Yeah, yeah. Doing justice by slaughtering an innocent woman just because she is pregnant with a child of a different race. Such a hypocrite!

Thank you for update!
I mean, he's not only been trying to make amends (not to the dead, because he can't, but at least to whoever else might get similarly treatment), but also still feels immense guilt over fucking up that badly.

He at least deserves credit for being repentant, if anything. Glad to know he doesn't get out fully scott-free out of that, but I can't hold the grudge too tightly against him... unlike i did with the PoS lance dude that got erased a few chapters back, or with the similarly scummy reincarnator.

At the risk of getting into spoiler territory, don't give Ketchup too much credit. He might feel bad, but isn't actually doing anything to repent, or even to prevent making the same mistakes again.

I start to feel that Luciliano's role is more of "Straight man" who's the world's "as close as possible" to average's common sense, in a cast that's full of Abnormal Quirky Animatronic at 5 nights ah people and "people"
Weird, but kind of welcomed addition to the main cast (for now ig?)

isn't actually doing anything to repent
He literaly became Martin Luther of this world to repent making Alda peacefull faction, who accept Vida races rights, major religion in Orbaum kingdom. And lately he make Alda agree accept peacefull faction as state religion in Empire and abolish slavery of Vida races there. Can be said, that not all Vida races accepted and that a big problem, but public opinion in this world consider ghouls, aracnes and others as monsters. Without knowing beforehand, you really can't say they are somebody you can even talk
I would say, he done more than enough. People basically hate Heins just because mc hate him.

That is just Knochen. Boneman wasn't part of it at all.
He was however originally the soul of rodents. It wasn’t until Van added in a nameless memory less human soul that Boneman gain the ability to talk and rank up. Due to this he does still have mouse qualities and Van has worried that if he doesn’t watch out for Boneman all the cats would be killed by him since the rodent soul and his family of rodents were killed by a cat

He's doing the things he does for his own self-ego, he doesn't actually give a shit about repenting for what he did. He's WAY to drunk on the Alda Justice Juice to truly repent.
The whole mom disappearing ticking clock plot has fizzled out. I don't remember why he can't he just put her in a monster or golem.
Because the vessel and the rank of the soul changes the soul. Depending on the vessel it effects the ego, memories, ect. in different way. For example -
Van will later use souls to inhabit mundane machinery(which become Rank 1 to 2 after being possessed) and those lose their "identites" as humanoids and identify solely as the machinery they inhabit losing their memories, personalities, ect.Placing her into a golem or monster would slowly(or rapidly, depending on the vessel) erode everything that makes her his mother. A great example of this is Eisen, she is a demonic Ent possessed by the spirt of the old woman apple seller that ran into Van after his encounter with Heinz and right before he created the Dungeon in his rage/frustration - she forgets everything about who she was when she possesses a low rank ENT and the only real holdover from her human life is she wants to hand out her apples to everyone.

Alda's "peaceful faction" is a joke; they're only interested in the rights of (some of) Vida's races as far as they don't upset the status quo and inconvenience 'real' people. They're less Martin Luther, and more Martin Luther King's white moderates. Hartner Duchy going unpunished after they betrayed and murdered their allies from Talosheim? Shouldn't do anything about that, think about all the 'chaos' it would cause! Freeing the falsely imprisoned Titan survivors enslaved in the mines? Don't do that, think what that would do to the economy! Sauron Duchy isolating the Scylla and then murdering them in a false flag to draw them into their war with the Empire? Just gotta let them do it, think about how much punishing Sauron's shitass leaders would hurt the war effort!

Whenever a nonhuman race and humans cause friction, these assholes take humanity's side without a second thought, even if humanity is clearly in the wrong. They'll still murder whole villages of sentient nonhumans as long as a human requests it, without even bothering to see if they were guilty of anything. Meanwhile Heinz will let even the most fanatical human Alda worshippers go to the authorities without bloodshed, even when they attack his own adopted Dhampir daughter - who Heinz explicitly uses as bait to draw them out in the first place.

Also Alda doesn't believe in any of this but is willing to put up with it as long as Heinz proves useful in murdering Van.

Swell guys, really.

People hate Heinz because they've either read the source material and have information about him manga only readers don't have because of where the manga is at in the narrative(@Chapter 86 out of 412 main story chapters) or they've read spoilers with that information.

Regarding your spoiler however outside of the part about public(read: indoctrinated) opinion on Vida's races, none of that ever happened or is correct lol. Ideon touched on the peaceful faction part in his spoiler so I be brief on that part, but I'm going to split my response into different spoilers so people can choose which ones they want spoiled or not because the information comes from much later in the story.

Regarding the Peaceful Faction
1. Heinz's Alda Peaceful faction works with Vida's priests in the Alcrem Duchy, yes, but they never become more than a fringe religion even at their height of influence in the Orbaume Kingdom as a whole. Vida herself descends(Via Darcia) and shits on the whole collaborative effort essentially killing the movement entirely and drawing the Kingdom towards Vida Fundamentalism(the Term she and Darcia agreed to use for their religious faction).

Regarding Alda
2. Alda never does any such thing and actually wanted to capture, depose and dispose of the current Emperor Marshukzarl who saw the writing on the wall and abdicates the throne, and Alda installs a new pope and puppet Emperor so he can directly control the Amid Empire in his quest to exterminate ALL of Vida's races from the face of the planet. This is lifted directly from the WN and is Alda's goals from his own mouth to the subordinate gods who have sided with him:
" “We have always envisioned returning this world to its original state… returning it to a world free of corruption – no matter how accustomed the people have become to living in a world with Devil’s Nests and Dungeons, using materials taken from monsters for their own purposes. We have resolved ourselves to making that a reality, even if we must spend hundreds of thousands of years purifying the Devil’s Nests, millions of years persuading the humans that this is for the best, and tens of millions of years sealing away all of the evil gods and fragments of the Demon King,” said Alda.
This was the ideal that Alda strived for. An ordinary world where monsters and the Devil’s Nests and Dungeons that spawned them did not exist.
A world without Vida’s races." - From Chapter 304 - The madness of the God of Law and Fate, and the Five-colored Blades’ progress

Does that sound like a God who was convinced by Heinz in anyway shape or form in his treatment of Vida's races?

Read the spoilers at your own risk, the info contained is from events the manga won't reach for YEARS.

mind you Alda got that way after Bellwood swore to help Alda bring this world back to it's original state (before war with demon lord). Same Bellwood regrets this as it clearly sent Alda on a genocidal lust and then Heinz pops around and says "Hey you couldn't foresee it, it's not your fault and if it is you can still make things right" (not what he actually said but close to).

Self-spoiler here. Couldn't wait for the manga or read the novels because when I want info I want info NOW:
Bellwood had an actual, honest and true epiphany and decides to stay sealed by himself, just giving Heinz a bit of power and then going back to, rightfully so, hating himself for what he has caused. Literally thinks the world is better off without him.
Won't be surprised if he'd beg Van to shatter his soul, if they ever meet.

Far from it. Cursed be Heinz! Holy Mother Killer and Vida's Mortal Enemy (actual titles he'll get)!
If anything Heinz is Judas!
Also, he didn't create the faction, he just joined it.

Hah.
People hate Heinz because they've either read the source material and have information about him
1 - Re-read if not belive. Before Guduranis death and, as a consequence - rising of Vida fundamentalism - main religion of Orbaume is Alda religion, and peacefull faction more popular than radical. And it became so popular after Heinz joined it and by his effort. Said somewhere in early volumes.
2 - Vol.15, side chapter 67. The new pope of empire after Heinz agreement with Alda.
“This more correct state of existence that I speak of, one that adheres more closely to the will of the gods, is to make peace with Vida’s races… to implement the ideology that has spread in the Orbaume Kingdom; to acknowledge races such as Beast-kin, Titans, Dark Elves, and Merfolk as races of people who are just like us,” Eileek continued. “From this moment forth, I declare that we at the Great Church of Alda will adopt the teachings of Alda’s Peaceful Faction as our doctrine, and that we shall take this law that protects every citizen of the Holy Nation of Amid as the exemplar that we should strive for.”
After some time slavery was completly abolished. As I remember, side chapter with Shneider about slavery still not translated by Yoshi. Alda own beliefs on this point not matter, as he agreed to change country politic he directly control

All Talosheim thing happen 200 years ago, and almost no one outside of Hartner Duchy knew a thing about it. And it never gets public before one of reincarnators was born in Hartner family. All thing with Scylla happend after Sauron Duchy was conquered by Amid Empire and by some partisans, who plotting to make their army bigger, and lately was killed. All thing still a mystery to Orbaume kingdom even now. Actually, I don't even see you point with both, as it unrelated to religion and never going public.

And about other Vida races I alredy told. They are considering monsters. If you learn history, you would knew, that perspective of people changed slowly. Like just 100 years ago women don't have rights. And it's weird that someone like Heinz, who started to change this situation, hated for it, because he doing not fast enough.
And, well, imagine for are moment, that you are normal adventurer and meet Empusa in the forest. I really doubt you would try to talk with it, not run or kill. Only Shneider built different and would try to fuck this giant mantis-human hybrid.

Far from it. Cursed be Heinz! Holy Mother Killer and Vida's Mortal Enemy (actual titles he'll get)!

There's so much wrong with this I don't know where to start.

The point that you're not seeing is that the example I gave were ones Van admitted to and Heinz, the leader and spokesman for the whole Faction, shat on for being mildly inconvenient to 'normal' people. He all but says that the Titans should have stayed imprisoned and the Scylla blockaded and forced to fight a war because... the Hartners charged new taxes to pay for their repair work and loss of mine revenue, and the Saurons threw their soldiers into an undead meat grinder to claim the Scylla's territory. That sounds like the lords' greed more than Van's fault.

And if you learned history you might have recognized that, when women or minorities had fewer rights, whenever they agitated for equality or even just slightly better treatment, there were always people saying that they were going too fast, that they shouldn't rock the boat, that they should move slowly. You know, in a few years, when the time is right (ignore how often in history the time was never right and women were treated like property over the last several thousand years). And those people would go back to doing nothing.

That's Heinz.

I didn't compare him to Dr. King's 'white moderate' out of nowhere. Heinz would rather let injustice to the 'lesser' races continue than upset the comfortable order of 'real' people, despite in some cases having been persecuted for 100,000 years (it's just not the right time, is it?). He uses the tragedy of Darcia's death as a rallying cry, while lying about his role in causing it, but does only the bare minimum to actually help anyone. Selen is the closest thing to an exception, and it reads like Heinz treats her more like a pet to make himself feel better than as her adopted daughter. When he's not putting her in danger to draw out fanatics, that is.

Also the 'Talosheim thing' was still happening, since there were Titans imprisoned and abused for that whole time that not a single Hartner could get off their ass to release, and it was the Saurons who forced the Scylla back to their lands, when they were once part of the royal family and supposed to be treated like equals; the Empire didn't have a hand in that.

There's also a middle ground between 'wanting to fuck everything' and 'killing on sight everything that doesn't look like you', but this spoiler text has gone on long enough.

People hate Heins just because mc hate him.
No. People love the MCs' enemies in stories all the time. You don't see anyone hating on Darth Vader just because Luke hated him for a movie and change. People love villains all the time. Heinz is hated because of who he is. He does make a great villain; he's a good foil for Van in goals, outlook, actions, and (once Van stops being a literal baby) power. He has good intentions - more than enough to pave a road to Hell - and is very flawed, but refuses to own up or address them.

It's probably a sign of a good story that people can have such wildly different views on the same material, assuming we've all actually read it, but maybe we should hold off on these discussions until the manga catches up. Good lord that chapter's gonna hit like 300+ comments, easy.

That title page of an alternate universe of Vandal and his mom eating a burger is adorable
