You're probably fine to keep on going. That clause / rule where you say you own the content is just so that Mangadex as a whole doesn't get blasted. It'll probably operate the same as before where if they requested to take down chapters again cause of DMCAs, it'll just get taken down since you're not going to dispute it, exactly like what it was before when scanlators got directly contacted from companies for DMCA.

This author is writing with confidence. Usually a romcom manga would drag this out way longer but here we're actually making real progress by volume 3. Feels like he has a strong plan for the plot and is sticking to it. I'm impressed.

There's a good chance that this story is all planned out and only intended to last for a few volumes. Sometimes, people in the comics industry really do make a story that ends. Every goodbye doesn't mean they were on the chopping block.
