Well, most people aren't capable of making rating things objectively. Pick any random manga on this site with a decent number of ratings and you'll see a big chunk of them will either be 10s or 1s.

Old-school YouTube got rid of their star rating system for likes/dislikes precisely because most people were either rating videos with either 5 stars or 0 / 0.5 stars.
