Kyousuke's mom is a real piece of work.

I assume she absolutely hated Kyousuke's dad and wants nothing to do with his blood, if she's that insistent on neglecting Kyousuke.

The alternative would be that they actually loved each other which makes it even worse, because she is throwing away Kyousuke- the only person connecting her to her late husband.

It's basically the trope of fathers hating their daughters for "devouring the mother" but gender reversed, or more broadly it's the "child who killed their parent" myth/trope which also makes him an ill omen. She had to hold someone responsible for her spouse dying and Kyousuke had just been born. Makes him an easy target for that resentment.

If the trope is anything to go by, she sees him not as the last connection to her husband but as the monster that killed him.

And damn, his mother was... quite awful. Ignoring him when he was down because his grandmother died is already pretty cruel. Kicking him out of the house, one can argue that it was actually for the best, even if it wasn't done with the best intentions.
But telling him to "stop being useless", and when he ACTUALLY TRY to do it, just telling him to go fuck himself?

On another subject, the ghost achieving nirvana in the background was hilarious.
It's interesting to see how Sosuke seems to be more afraid of people he actually have to interact with, and thus ghosts are not a problem for him. He's probably way more scared of his mother than any curse of spirit...

But Rui steps in and shatters the begrudged curse of the rom-com genre, and realizes and confesses her feelings.

There's a lot of going on in this chapter, and that's good. This ch is like summarized about Kyosuke's past and future. Yes, the future I mean the apartement thing 🤣 And it ends with Rui's confession. Well, they not yet give their marriage paper to marriace center (idk the office name), but I hope they will, and throw away the divorce paper.

I hope (maybe we hope) this not getting axed. I love to see fast and straightforward development like this. Not going like 40++ chapters or more just to say "I love you" or something like that. But Axe-kun somehow like haunting this manga. I hope not.
