I, for one, don't need an emotional punch every chapter, so I do appreciate having just a cool fight (plus, as some pointed, it's also used to accentuate Pikachu's situation).
It's a shame that we only get 2 chapters per year, but as far as I'm concerned, I'll gladly follow it for the next 30 years if I get to have all the major fights, not all of them, but I also don't want to be limited to just the main cast (I do agree that Daigo should have fought someone more relevant tho).

Thanks for the chapter. We just completely forgot that 'kanto/johto Pokemon' thing didn't we? Probably for the best.
Definitely for the best, unless it only featured Kanto/Johto characters, but since the Indigo League is the highest competition in the world, it stands to reason that people from other regions would show up, now imagine being one of them and being told by the staff that they can't use the Pokémon they have been raising/training for years, and had to instead catch some Kanto Pokémon and start training them from scratch. That said, I just like having more options for battles than only 147 of the first 151, so I very much approve of this decision.

That's a good point, you should evolve your Pikachu. Always.
No matter how much you try, it will not evolve into Gorochu. I do agree with the statement tho.

I suppose the more recent type change mechanic with Terastalizing might be possible too but I'm not as familiar with that one and the specifics there or if it's possible in this region like Gigantomax.
While the "Terastal phenomenon" can be brought to other regions, the one that does it (Briar), by the timeline, is probably still a child, so yeah, it's for now locked to Paldea.

As for Z-Moves, they aren't tied to Alola as far as I remember, but aside from the bracelet and the stones, the little dance is also required, and while I did like them in the games, I think they would be a little too silly for this manga.

Already mentioned a couple times, but replying to you just so you can see. Dyna/Gigantamax is region specific to Galar, so that's not gonna happen.

Red's pikachu was born with a defect, maybe that defect prevents its evolution as well

It's all fun and games until that Pikachu Gigantamaxes in the next encounter.

Interesting...is Lorelei implying that Pikachu might be a G-Max? Because the way she mentioned that Pikachu is unable to evolve implies the fact that it can't due to having the Gigantimax Factor somehow...this will be interesting~
I thought it was just her way of getting them riled up by implying that his Pikachu is defected or something.
