Earlier this month, May 2025, Mangadex was hit with a wave of copyright takedowns that affected thousands of series and hundreds of thousands of chapters, leaving many scanlators and readers uncertain of what the future might hold. Since none of Bright Smiles' projects were affected by the takedowns, we've decided to continue posting on Mangadex for the foreseeable future. For anyone looking for an alternative site to use, we also post Great Trip to Dynasty Reader. We will update our Bluesky account with details as more options become available.

Thank you for reading Have a Great Trip After the Credits Roll chapter 7, and please look forward to continued releases here and elsewhere.

P.S.
Corporate needs you to find the difference between this picture and this picture:

So what? You are going to find that the one who killed the demon king was not your daughter???

What are you going to do if you find out that the reason you were even able to see her was because of a resurrection spell?

Send the mage to jail for using forbidden magic after she saved the world?

so far everyone's been really focused on how terrible the parents are, but nobody's speculated about WHY rikitake made them so awful.

back in chapter 2, we saw how iro was able to get a handle on her unstable emotions after receiving encouragement from her partner. because iro has a somewhat sensitive and anxious personality, it makes easy sense that she would draw strength from having someone strong and brave like aino at her side.

here in chapters 6 and 7, aino's parents are an especially interesting element of the story because it's the first time we've seen aino in a situation where she is completely helpless. when her parents are involved, aino's emotions are unstable and she's unable to act freely. their overbearing presence grants us the opportunity to see how someone like aino, who is typically confident and shining, can draw strength from her partner. i think i would have struggled to believe how much aino relies on iro if we didn't see firsthand a situation where she would totally shut down if she was doing it alone. like this, no matter how the story is spun, and no matter what impressions we're given by the setting and the circumstances, we can still get a full understanding of the ways they love and support each other as equals.

i think my favorite part about her parents is how real they feel as villains. they're not "evil" in the traditional sense, they're just shamelessly selfish, don't care about aino's feelings, and benefit from controlling her.

and maybe my other favorite thing about them is that it feels like rikitake had a lot of fun writing and drawing them. they kind of go wild with composition and create exaggerated effects when drawing scenes with the parents, and it comes across as extra impactful (like in this page where aino is rendered extra small and extra helpless by darkening the background and using dynamic camera angles). rikitake didn't have to make that kind of effort to complete the scene, so to me that's proof that they were enjoying themself. (that being said, composition in general is one of rikitake's consistent strengths, so maybe they would have made the effort regardless. but either way it leaves a strong impression).

One thing I'm really wondering is

Why does the King hate mages? Kinda sounds like a variant of Chekov's gun here. Why would they mention something like this if it had nothing to do with the plotline later on...

i'm very interested to know that too! i think it's a rich detail which is very likely to come up again.

so far it's already had 2 influences on the story:
1) in the backstory, it pushed karoliina's agenda of aino getting all the honor and glory, which is what allowed aino to travel with iro in the first place;
2) it explains why, in every chapter so far, all of the npcs have been crediting aino as the hero while ignoring iro, despite iro being the one who actually defeated the demon king. i think this setup of aino = hero; iro = ignored is important for the tone of the story, so it's nice that it has an in-universe, diagetic explanation.

whether or not we meet the king directly in the story remains to be seen, but i'll bet it will be important to keep this in mind when other mages start showing up.

Well... nobody expects the Spanish inquisition. But here we go. I guess even a story about the aftermath of a conflict needs more conflict.

Yeah honestly the parent can go fuck themselves.

Tho I do have a feeling that there's another thing that the two MCs are hiding and still no explanation about it till now (either they intentionally hiding it or genuinely don't know about it) (I hope it's the latter)

Wow. That's some awful parents right there, and i guess the king and his man are involved in some awfulness too. Great...

Thanks for the translations!
