I don't think it's actually her mother. If it is I am going to feel kinda disappointedIf that's actually her mother she's going to have to explain why she was away for so long, it seems the other monster people have no issue finding each other so lack of ability wouldn't be a good answer
Taya says at the end of the chapter, "Who are you? And why do you wear my mother's face?" This suggests that she already knows someone is impersonating her mother. If that's the case, it might mean her mother isn't 100% dead. Like snakes, spiders also shed their skin. While the process is different, we've already seen an example of this earlier in the manga, when Haru accidentally ate Taya’s shed skin, mistaking it for leftover chicken. So, it's possible that during the fight with the human villagerswhen Taya’s mother was protecting her, she might have survived and shed her damaged outer layer after the battle.I don't think it's actually her mother. I'm 90% sure Mangaka reads these messages. Please! Let this be canon!"I'm your aunt. I was hoping to get an invite to your wedding, but I didn't have your contact details, and this was all I could think of."
Would be dope if Taya's mother was somehow still alive and managed to get wind of what happening, then she swups in to save the day protecting both Taya and her now human husband. Would be also really funny is she jokingly disapproved of Haru at first just to see Taya's reaction but would ultimately consider Haru part of the family. Then they can all begin a new arc where mother-in-law adapts to the big city and society as a whole (well... until the baby is born. Then she can do what she wants)I'm 90% sure Mangaka reads these messages. Please! Let this be canon!
Didn't someone say that the author tweeted that there was going to be a sad twist, ie someone is going to be killed off? With this latest chapter, seems like it'll be the mother that's dead, and the impostor is probably wearing her skin.
