To add on to that, The rock itself isn't super heated from the friction of entering the atmosphere. So ya, really big splash seems on point. I'd put it on the level of a giant glacier breaking free.

Yeah a lot has to do with the altitude and how that imparts kinetic energy or changes the state of the asteroid. Even if you mark it less conservatively and assume the meteor appeared from higher up, you get a much bigger blast but nothing apocalyptic....still comparable to singlular examples of man-made nukes.

At the time years ago, I was particularly curious especially because it reminded me of the MCU avengers movie about Ultron. Near the end he stated that if he dropped a rock "early", maybe within 10~20km of the ground, it would still kill billions of people. I could have looked up other people's probably better calculations on the subject as I'm sure there are, but doing my own calculation was fun.

In any case, the claim was totally unrealistic, that rock needed to have dropped from not only out of the atmosphere, but something like halfway to the moon. It turns out most manga/anime depictions of "survivable" meteor impacts aren't that unrealistic, as long as the rock didn't actually come all the way from space.

There’s also another new princess that’s been met and will likely be engaged to Cain posthaste. Not sure which 3 girls you mean (it’s been a while since I read this) but I don’t recall him having much development with any other girls between where the manga is at and where the WN is at.

Nah, the manga won't catch up anytime soon. Look at the time it took to go through each arc thus far in the manga. Even though the demon arc was pretty short iirc, the next one had way more dialogue (still my favorite), and the WN's translation is currently 2 arcs ahead of this demon arc.
