It would have been bittersweet, but I was kind of hoping for an ending where Emi's Remilia would find a way to swap places with Emi again. Emi wouldn't have wanted it, but I think Emi's Remilia would have happily made the sacrifice. I really felt like it was all building to that.

I do occasionally like a sad ending (looking at you Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass).

It's been a while since I read it, so I can be wrong. But Pina ending was more brutal in the book.
At first, she was sentenced to death, but Remi plead for her, she then officially sends to labor instead. Her tongue was cut, and she wasn't particularly guarded either, a lot of prisoners are people who got scammed by her, so she quickly became a target of frustration.
Rape, torture, and heal just enough to not die is her new casual day. There were excellent healers put in place to take care of her and make sure whatever the prisoner did, she won't die. She was burned, disfigured and more, but she is still the only woman the prisoners can get, so it continues.

I guess that was too hardcore to show in the manga

Lmaoo I can see now why Remi wanted her alive, killing her would've been too short.
I'm still kinda upset-ish that Emi isn't manifested, then Remi and Emi reunite more uhh conventionally, but Ill take what I can get

I don't really buy Remilia loving Angel, I think it's just a weird rationalization/mental gymnastics because author wasn't ballsy enough to have a solitary lesbo ending, 7/10.

Me too, tho I guess I'm viewing it as Remi being happy that another person (Angel) truly loving the Emi that Remi presents herself as.

I love that Remi never has fallen into the "I'm a misunderstood person, I'm not that bad!" archetype. She knows she's a bad bitch and she owns it. Everything she did, was for Emi's sake. Her image of pure Remilia was created just to honor Emi's loving memory.

A shame we can't have a true yuri ending, because the love Remi has for Emi is off the charts. I guess fan art will do these two justice.

Ikrrr I appreciate that author didn't push her down the redemption path where she genuinely becomes a better person. Some stories like that can be good, but for this story I liked it how it is: Remi saving or burning down the world won't matter for her, as long as Emi is happy.

Do let me know if when such fanarts crop up, I was pining for Remi x Emi from the start 😔

A part of me feels a bit bad for the other guys in the reverse harem, it must be terrible to be effectively drugged into a relationship for so long and have your life ruined in the meantime.

I understand it was established that the Love potion cannot create love from thin air and some affection has to be made first, but maybe due to how much we see the Prince's perspective, I wish that we can see it from the others as well.

It was satisfying to see the Prince lose but I didn't feel that much about the others here. Maybe I need a chapter or two exploring how they felt to really be able to enjoy them losing.


But I binged the heck out of it and I really love the story, and glad it came to a pretty quick end without too much complications. I am always worried when a story feels like it is dragging along after the initial conflict is gone.
