The only water magic she did during that entire fight was pissing herself, wasn't it?

... Okay, technically she cast a healing spell on chapter 3.2
Yeah let's not forget healers are important. That one dude would be dead RN. But hopefully she's no longer getting all cocky on that other girl. I still don't even understand how "Ice" was supposedly useless without a water mage. If someone else has to provide the water, her element isn't "Ice" it's just "Cold".

Consider none before have ever experimented with the slow down magic to begin with to discover that it was actually gravity manipulation.

Even as a basic start, when he used it and he collapsed into the ground. The immediate thought for fighters would be. What if I used this club, used this and crashed down unto an opponent? Just that as a start would already make it super deadly and it already conflicts with the initial statement that it's "Slow" magic, when it initially seems to make the user just crash into the ground.

Effectively, it's like watching a bunch of blind people who never understand cause and effect get handed magic and told have at it, and even though it's been used in their history, none of the lessons of the past have been carried forward, so any discovery made now will be oh my god we never thought of it this way.

Even just magic that makes things cold. If they have four seasons in their world, then they already know the deadly effect of winter. Just the ability to make things cold is advantageous in many different ways, whether utility wise, warfare wise or even individual combat wise without even diverting into what people would normally think of. Hey, if you're in combat and sweating, what happens if I freeze your sweat? What about your blood?

Basically. All the mages see that their magic is A. And then forget how to go from A to B and hyper focus on A. It is effectively watching a world where the average IQ is 70.

I mean, even if all I had was getting squashed to the ground by the spell, I sure wouldn't think "this magic makes me slow"

It's pretty obviously "this magic makes me heavy", or at worst, "this magic squashes me to the ground." Which should be followed with, "What happens if I just jump on someone and then fire it off? Will I squash them?"

Even if it's no good for that, any rational person would keep trying to work out what it's good for, instead of just giving up. Especially since the spell's target is "me and whatever I'm holding". Hold a big fucking mace. Fire off the spell as you swing it at the monster's head. Even if the mace flies out of your hand when the magic hits because you can't hold it, you probably one-shot the beast.

Unless the average IQ is 70. Perhaps that's the answer. The real title is, "I've been reincarnated and I have an awesome skill, but I'm surrounded by morons!"
