Re the story, Dana is not that bad to me. He's sheltered, but that's not his fault, given he's a prince and I think they are supposed to be teenagers. He's trying very hard to think about the people's welfare, but it's a type of intellectual activity to him. He fails to see the real impact of his actions, like causing problems for commoners or women fighting over him. But he 's actually just braindead about the level of social influence he has and how he can use it to help others; compared to early Hesha he is very kind.
If he never matures then he will keep being the 'sheltered Marxist intellectual' type saying they will 'get around' to other issues once the economic issues are taken care of. Then will keep having a bad impact on people, but I doubt that's where the story is going with him. It's more likely he ends up with Jolene's brother, not that I'd quite wager on that yet, but his lack of interest in women for non-intellectual reasons is notable given the type of story this is.
