I just hope in the next chapter Washio will be able to stop Drako and beat the crap out of Julius. But I'm prepared to be disappointed.

The author is backpedaling so fast, trying to scramble out of the mess he made in this arc, that he stumbled and broke his skull on the concrete floor.
That's the only way you can explain how BAD this arc is.

And yes I agree with all the other posts. He went for a NTR situation with an edgy villain (cause he's a fucking moron) and everyone hated it (cause few poeple like this shit). And now he's grasping at straws trying to bring the ratings back up again.

I just don't fucking get it. I came for wholesome and a little pervy monstergirl action. And the start was nice and fun. And then this arc? Why? I truly feel the author completely misread the audience he had...

Its like going undercover to get evidence on a sex traffic ring. Why are you willingly being injected with the unknown substance JUSt to get proof that he does it?
"alright youre undercover, now he may drug you and molest you while drugged, but hopefully you can resist it and not get r***ed. But if you do, then that's just the proof we need, good luck enforcer!"

I said this last chapter, but I’ll say it again: there’s no reason to believe anything happened between Julius and Drako beyond what the characters actually said. This isn’t like the pre-serialization of Cheeky Gyaru Sister, where the fanbox chapters revealed all the sordid details implied but not shown in the main story. To me, it seems the author is awful at portraying bait and went too far—or maybe everything got retconned because of backlash. Either way, if it wasn’t shown, it didn’t happen, and we have to take the characters’ words at face value. Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m defending this mess.

Thanks for the chapter!
As a caveat to "show don't tell", if an author shows something, the author can't just tell/gaslight the reader that it didn't happen (or they retcon it) without a proper buildup or logical sequence of events, or else the readers will just feel cheated, or feel NOTHING.

It just unfortunately shows how poor the writer of this series is... and why being able to draw massive tiddies doesn't make one automatically a good manga author.

Washio HAS to show his power or skill in taking Drako and Julius down.
Optionally, the other monster girls also lose control, and gives Washio a chance to show-off even more.
Then the school HAS to recognize Washio.
Julius will probably get away, but it doesn't matter, the important thing here is that Washio gets recognized.

If Washio remains pathetic during and after this, then the author really has no idea what he's doing... and/or he just REALLY hates Washio, like, good god. Throw the man a bone(r) or something

Drako's plan reminding me an awful lot of this south park episode.

"Female virginity"
"Cultural value"

The first act of sexual intercourse by a female is commonly considered within many cultures to be an important personal milestone. Its significance is reflected in expressions such as "saving oneself", "losing one's virginity," "taking someone's virginity" and sometimes as "deflowering". The occasion is at times seen as the end of innocence, integrity, or purity, and the sexualization of the individual.[39]

There is a page showing her on a compromising position and a torn flower on the ground, the author KNEW exactly what he was doing. See also "Défloration" and "symbolism"

Just as a reminder you can read the next chapter on the translator's website.

Washio does in fact finally get serious after Drako basically glasses the school and is on the verge of vaporizing Claudia.

Also yes, it is very obvious that the author retconned Drako's "involvement" with Julius because of backlash. It's honestly too little too late, as Radstylix pointed out you can't show some explicit imagery of Drako getting cozy with Julius in a heavily implied fugue state and then hand wave it away with a little snippet a few chapters later. Not to mention that Drako's entire plan makes no fucking sense given how she behaved towards Washio from the very beginning of the arc. Her character was ruined from the start, the downward spiral was just twisting the knife and no amount of band-aid fixes will close the gaping wound.

This is less Author "Word of God" and more "Author's Saving Throw" if we're going to be throwing around tropes to explain this shift.

Chat, don't tell me you fell for "provocative imagery". Its called set up. Just like her obviously defying the bad guy and saving her friends from getting caught is called set up. Drako has panties on and is sitting on the guy's lap with his robes on. No one is having sex in this story, it was all bait. Also his mind control and monster drug aren't the same thing. One working and the other not isn't the craziest thing in the world. Chat, this isn't a retcon, its just bad writing.

Rather than brainwashed, it seems he wanted to go for some edgy "Drako was convinced the monster girls were causing Washio to be miserable, blabla" excuse. Which makes very little sense whatsoever.

That little joke riff between Julius and the students has me worried this arc's gonna end with a redemption where he just becomes some side character with a joking rivalry with the main group or something. Can't wait for the inevitable reveal of "oooh I just stole the research and was a bad guy brainwashing girls because of a sad backstory! Time for a flashback!"

FWIW I really don't think this is the author sensing an axe or reader complaints and changing the original idea, this is just the author trying to write a "bad girl is actually good" twist and just kinda failing at it. It's a monster girl harem about his previous students fawning over him, while it's still possible that she was gonna be a villain, imo it's most likely she was gonna just be yet another student fawning over him.

She's probably just supposed to be the token tsundere, so her intro story was something that included her being standoffish + lying about her true intentions, but it just landed poorly.
