I made a longer post on chapter 1 about this but yeah his chapter convinced me this is a machine translation from Spanish. The typesetting so far has been awful and chapter 2 had some weird artifacts similar to google but this time the translation errors are the exact same kind of mistaken speaker that only machine translations do (the mage is speaking about himself in third person).
