I think in the last chapter I was less forgiving to the kid, and while I don't think he was trying to 'scare' her at all, and was definitely trying to murder her, he IS still a child (in a difficult situation) and should be given some leeway.

I disagree with everyone defending Pakis because of his sobstory.
Leaving all the other underground robbing and murder stuff aside, he was even told to treat Frim kindly by his mother and lied to her about it. He knew that what he did was wrong and did it regardless, not trying one bit to be better.

The brat Pakis is still an idiot for ignoring his mom's words. She seemed like she had some good principles, like not taking blood money and being indebted to the mafia (they're connected to nobles), so she should have taught her kid some valuable lessons and morals.

But Pakis is a lying little sh*t.

He probably thinks his mom is an idiot for not taking money from his deadbeat dad too. This is the kind of character that if they were older, they'd almost be irredeemable... sadly no matter how irritating he is and how much I want to hate him, he's still a kid. I can't even blame him too much, which definitely sucks.

Sin of beating up a helpless, malnourished orphan kid, taking credit for their hard work and being envious of that same kid.
