Never read light novel (more likely where any given change came from is there). It's pretty common for light novel (and thus it's manga adaptation) to tone down darker aspects. Like another series protagonist repeatedly sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl being sloppily edited out.

Anyway, in the web novel Alan basically blew up a whole town with the soldiers in it (the civilians had fled I think?). Alan's kill cumulative kill count in the web novel might genuinely have reached 100,000, pretty much entirely bandits and soldiers though.

Thanks for the chapter.

I'm sorry, WHAT? I hope this isn't one that I read, that's just vile and editing it out is the bare minimum, that should never have been adapted.

Zero or very close to zero. Average japs only care and are aware of international political affairs drectly concerning them.
The only times I remember they rewrote or halted an anime or manga series was related to something that recently took place in japanese soil.
putin isekai had to add a scar to the protag's face and softened the look of the series onve the russia stuff really started ramping up, so even if the audience isn't in thr know, editors/mangaka are

Hazure Hantei kara Hajimatta Cheat Majutsushi Seikatsu (Life as a Cheat Magician that Began with a False Judgment).

In the book: He has little experience with healing, so he's desperately groping around trying to heal her with a full body massage.
In the adaptation: Innocently hovers his hand over her.

Later scene:
In the book: Dreams of graping his main adversary, but the girl's in bed with him and he gets chided for being to rough with her.
In the adaptation: Isn't touching her when waking.

The dialogue proceeds as if the original incidents happened, so in the adaptation it looks like the girl is delusional.

And somehow it worked. That army immediately ran from a dragon that was right in front of them, but not from a weapon that could casualy destroy them from out of their reach (and they've already seen it used). Writing, ladies and gents.
In this case, I'd chalk it up to the culturally and generationally built up fear of dragons and their actual up-close presence being a greater factor in destroying morale than a distant weapon that's been only a recent and barely identifiable participant in war.

Stop making chapters shorter damnit! Its a popular manga and its still monthly! They should definitely have time to put more effort into longer chapters!

I'm fine with MC not doing war crimes, because I think there's a need for characters who don't cross that line into mass murdering and remain ostensibly "good".

There's enough edgie boi revenge addict stories and characters with edge on edge, edging action.
I liked the character growth it had on Allen as he had to come to terms with the idea that some citizens refused to leave. The need for him to get great honors to be approved of by the kingdom and be allowed to marry and the understanding that some innocents would die despite ample warnings.

Thanks for the chapter!

LETS FUCKING GO THIS IS GOING TO BE CRAZY. Two dragons plus Alan’s rage is going to burn down the capital. That’s what those guys get for kidnapping, attempted r, murder, etc. Fuck ‘EM, can’t wait to see them go all out.

That comment from Melissa is a death flag though (we’ll be with you to the end). What the fuck

Given that these dragons are on the small side, that would have to be some hardcore trauma for the whole human race, too bad there's been no mention of anything like that so far... Also, notice how all of them are just running to the gates of a besieged city and somehow not getting stuck there, meaning whomever was manning them decided to lift them rather than run himself (without orders, no less).

War crime averted! I've seen a lot of last minute swooping and saving someone. Almost all of them were physically saving; this is the first time I've seen someone being saved psychologically.

In the WN he bombed the shit out of the city. The dragons came during the night after the city had already been occupied.

Definitely the fire bombing of Tokyo. It's a Japanese story, after all.
The firebombing of tokyo would fit if it wasn't the 2 sides styles in the series, the enemy nation in this is almost definitely being referenced similar to nazi germany (though the mindgames they are trying to play on the fl could reference mengele or unit 731 to be fair), the firebombing of tokyo is generally viewed differently than the dresden bombings to a japanese viewer and would be likely far more detailed if that was the attempt, the ambiance seems to hint more at dresden to me though.
So that is why modern wars are all fought with nukes.
Nukes are A not as usefui in warfare as people are led to believe and B the reason why nukes aren't used is once one uses them, EVERYONE uses them, this is also why your not seeing too many of iran's ally's up in arms about iran's nuclear facilities being hit outside of finger waving and bluster, NO ONE wants nuclear proliferation because nukes are basically a, pardon the way of saying it but, the "fuck you" button, the moment you use one, your country is doomed, yes you might take out your enemy with you, but your also gonna be nuked as well, this is why no nation uses them, the use of nukes isn't to actually use them, it's to threaten to use them, the last thing any nation wants is for a country to actually USE one, because then they have to use theirs and all hell breaks loose.

Now unlike what people think, nukes are NOT a doomsday weapon, even if every nuke was used civilization would likely survive as would most of the countries hit, but their cities would be devistated and the global economy collapse, supply chain collapse etc, it would technically end the world as we know it, but that's "as we know it", civilization would continue, most nations would continue, but the world order and power structures would collapse.

Basically total nuclear war would likely lead to the collapse of many of the world's governments into anarchy, which would be the real threat to civilization, not the nukes themselves.
