The premise is actually good, but it just doesn't work at all when the MC's that bland, brooding and OP. Remake Your Life anime criticized this trope where him doing everything and solving everything for the people he cared about leads to them being complacent, dependent and leaving no room nor incentive to grow. Leading to a future where all of them, except him, did not succeed.

Though with this manga being based on the light novel and the MC on that light novel is pretty uninteresting, I doubt they're going to change it. But what do I know, I'm just a manga reader. Probably the only reason this gets high ratings is that it's satisfying for the readers to shit on the rich bitch FML without a care for the quality of writing or the plot.

Yeah thats one of the more disappointing aspects of this story in that MC is just super ultra capable and never has to work to be better.

But I will say it is quite cathartic watching rua’s downfall.

Yep, none at all apart from him being established as super human in every regard by showcasing his monstrous strength when breaking the massive table, him being acknowledged as super smart and mature by important people, having exceptional management skills, being well versed in fighting as her main bodyguard etc.
We are only 4 chapters deep, plenty of space for some backstory and reveals.

I do agree that him being THIS op is pretty tricky but I thought Amane was more of a problem being kinda flat and I am unsure where the author is taking this. But it is fun and I enjoy him actually pulling through with the revenge.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a secret agent next chapter. Also it would be better if the rich girl wasn't so one dimensional as she's just there to be dumped on. No nuance to her character whatsoever. Pretty much this is just a basic wish fulfillment fantasy series.

Yeah I see what you mean. Tbh this is “a kicked out of the hero’s party” with a different coat of paint to seem fresh and new.

“Rua” is the typical irredeemable hero who everyone just adores but is actually really incompetent now that protag has left and ends up hated by everyone.

“MC” is typical leaves hero’s party and realizes he’s actually super OP and the hero was only holding him back.

“Amane” is one of the token girls who are helped by the kind MC and falls for him eventually ending up in MC’s harem.

Replace defeating the demon lord with making a successful idol group and you have the full package.

Tbh I hope it isn’t just this and actually shakes up the character interactions but the story really feels like its heading into a bland harem where Rua just pouts for several chapters before either A. Her life is ruined or B. She finally breaks down and is accepted into MC’s harem. (The story seems like its going towards option A)

I mean... the author did glaze him so hard when having Rua's family talk about him. Stuff like how he was meant to be her husband and therefore trained to be able to protect her, how the guy was actively pretending to be average as to not overshadow Rua. That if he were to get serious he could easily be topping the charts with his grade and disrupt the country, maybe even the world.

So if a chapter comes around where he has to hack something I won't at all be surprised.
