Honestly I was hooked from the beginning but I def see what you mean. Both the protagonist and the heroine are pretty interesting so far. Hopefully this manga doesn't lose the plot once they get together. As we all know, very few manga are able to keep the steam in the plot after getting the main couple together and either introduce a B-plot couple or just end the storyline.
I mean, this is the second half of the first chapter of volume 2, it's still "the beginning".
But yes, I do share your concerns, but
for now this is an incredible start. I mentioned it in the last release but I think it's a top 10 start of a manga for me among hundreds upon hundreds of series I've read. Like it's probably top 1% in terms of having an engaging first volume, and
easily top 1% for engaging first volume by a non-established author. If they can keep this momentum it'll be a fantastic series, but keeping the momentum will be a challenge with such a narrow premise.
