So as you know the recent purge and the latest tos I have to tick everytime I upload at mangadex is making me feel a bit iffy.

I do upload elsewhere, and I guess my uploads here at mangadex is in a wait and see mode. I do have one foot out the door though, but still undecided on where to go for a new backup home...
Any suggestions?

The tickbox just says (in way more words) that you're doing this for funzies, and not trying to turn a profit on this specific site.

It prevents both MD from being sued, and protects YOU from being sued.

Bato, Nello, Fire, Toons... all the other sites? They have advertising (and pop-ups, and redirects, and malware) to make money.
Not sure if they're paying you any of that money, but you can get sued for uploading your own work on those sites; because the site makes money.
MD can get legal notices, but they are ultimately protected because they aren't making money off the uploads... and you can't be the subject of legal action from uploading on MD, other than a notice that they'd like the "artwork" and the "practice" you have done to be removed.

So, basically, if you want to either make money off other people's work, or get sued for trying to do so, stick with the malware sites.
If you just want to upload manga for people to read, stick with MD... and tick the little checkbox.

I love your translations, BTW; I'm following most of your work, and it's good stuff.

I know that this isn't really a thing in manga, but it sure is everywhere else.

I do upload on bato since that and mangadex does have the most reader reach that I know and reader feedback. No they don't pay me anything at bato, lol, but it is convenient and straightforward to release there for a small group. And after my break, I think I'll just continue uploading here. Hope no publisher comes after me🤞

Though I'll be honest, I have buyer's remorse about this manga, haha. I picked this up solely due to her funny cause of death, but after further published raws, it's pretty meh. I will still continue to the end cause I hate not finishing a project and thankfully it's not that long.
