I wanna say better late than never, but honestly with all the waiting combined with how open Youki's been about his feelings, it's just felt like Cecilia was leading him on to keep him from going back to being a demon. Their relationship just hasn't really progressed or grown in a natural or meaningful way, and now that they're almost together it feels borderline forced despite being the required outcome of the series. Youki was always obsessed with her, Cecilia's always just seemed indifferent, but despite their screen time together being at least half her scolding him for something, their feelings are somehow requited.

A complete lack of chemistry between the leads. It's sad when the secondary couples have more development than the lead couple.

This story started like 4 years ago, yet the building to this confession feels empty, unnatural. Mc shouted his love for Cecil since ch1, she never responded nor showed much interest in him, she basically had him in her pocket while he was out there solving problems for everyone else… then some marriage proposal comes for her, and now everyone is pushing him to act, while she is just waiting for his moves…
It’s kinda sad when the main couple has way less chemistry than all the other ones in it’s own series
Thanks for the translation

For everyone who's saying their relationship doesn't work...the main issue is making it more clear the switch in Cecilia's perspective on Youki.

Because there was one at some point, it is clear in the way they interact since like 10 chapters ago and how they interacted on the initial 10 chapters, and it was clearly her leading him on to prevent him from returning to being a demon.. up until a point where she started to take him more seriously as a person instead of as a threat to safety and peace.

But it is extremely hard to pinpoint that moment, because of how easily she seemingly accepts everyone else but him, and how she doesn't really stop blushing or feeling awkward about interacting with him. It's just that at some point, it stops being because he feels like someone she doesn't know being overly friendly with her for uncertain reasons, and starts being because she is genuinely charmed by the person he is while becoming less and less guarded against his sincerity.

She actively starts believing in the person he has shown himself to be the entire time, the core of the person he wants to be, instead of thinking it is a ruse or something that can go south at any time. But we weren't given any noticeable sign of when that happens. Which IS BAD. Because there is clear reasoning BEHIND the how, but it doesn't feel like the HOW itself ever happened.

At most, we have to believe that that one time were they didn't meet each other for a while was enough to give her perspective on Youki's actions and his way of being, and helped it happen...emphasis on "believe", because the author of the manga missed the point where we need to see Cecilia start thinking about him and properly start to sort out her feelings for him towards something more romantic to make this development believable.

Honestly i don't get how people can say their relationship doesn't work, have people actually seen how couples work?
The term opposites attract isn't really correct, but it does hint at what it actually means, people compliment each other, cecilia and youki do have alot in common but their personalities fill in what the other's doesn't, youki's playful nature is uniquely suited to cecilia's calm and rational one and both fill a void the other had.

The updates slipped from my list since like 3 months ago. And how in the world did I come at this exact time where the cliffhanger is bigger than Grand Canyon^2 💀
