This is probably the host whose tragedy enrages me the most. She’s a sweet innocent girl, who’s tricked into falling in love with a false persona. Then when it finally wears off, she learns not only her love was false but her entire support system was fake and learned they all actually looked down on her with her forced to jump off a cliff in despair. Honestly this felt like one of the sh!ttiest things to happen to one of our Queen Lüxia’s hosts.

I fear it's made even worse by the fact that she was essentially berated and called useless, a "waste of space", and told to off herself because she would be better off dead afterwards. Like this entire tragedy (the reason for this arc's creation) would not have happened if they had simply told her the truth in the first place, or at least, had been kind to her afterwards. Would it have salvaged the fact that they treated her like canon fodder without her permission? No, but there was no point in rubbing more salt in her wound other than they just wanted to be mean.

It's also a lot more ironic because the term used to refer to their cultivation "core", the DaoXin, which we'll be translating as Spiritual Willpower later on (forgot to change the term for this release 😭 ) is an actual metaphorical concept used in Buddhist theory in real life, where the stronger your DaoXin is (the more practiced your Buddhist beliefs are), the more compassionate and kind you become, which is ironic considering how the characters all act here.

P.S: As a small bonus, the Chinese term for Solar Lunar Peak (乾坤峰, "QianKun Peak") can alternatively mean “Heaven and Earth”, “Yin and Yang”, a “country”, the “emperor and empress”, a “state of affairs” (in regards to war, politics or the economy) or a “move that looks beautiful but is impractical” / a “scheme intended to deceive someone”. We went with the "sun and moon" meaning, but taking into consideration the entire arc, I thought to put this here just as a treat.

This is why unlike the other starting chapters of each arc, I can’t bear to read this one again. It p!sses me off too much.
