Mildly disappointing to not see a kiss or even a confession, or, for that matter, even an indication that they're going out now. Was still pretty cute, though. Needs more girls kissing, but cute all the same.

what do you mean this is not bait? there is no Yuri in it! all the romance sceens we got? the hints? how is this NOT BAIT!
The only bait is that we got baited into thinking that we would get a satisfying and completed work. The abrupt ending doesn't erase all of the romantic development through the manga. This is not a case of yuri baiting, just a bad/incomplete manga

Wait so they knew she was a nerd who had a makeover since the beginning? Doesn't that make the "coming out as an otaku" ending kinda pointless?
Looking nerdy and BEING nerdy are two different things. After all, the looks can be deceiving, and she didn't carry anything that outed her as an otaku on that first meeting, let alone act as one.

There's people who are either plain or unassuming without being into manga or anime. Could just have other hobbies, like music or poetry, and still be able to look like that.

Daily reminder that "anime otaku" do have a negative bias in Japan, even if we might think they're more accepted nowadays here in the west.

I'm sad it's over (so abruptly at that), but looking back, I never really expected that I would feel something from what was on the surface kinda a simple comedy yuri manga setup?

Something about Mimiru's insecurities and imposter syndrome really resonated with me—maybe it's that I too used to be a weird kid and eventually found my way into more normie circles. Even now there are things I ramble on about and I'm self-conscious of them, but I'm constantly reminded that I'm appreciated much more than I realise—

I wish we got to see more of these girls' lives, but it's rare that a manga manages to make me feel and cry as much as this one did. Would it have been nicer to have proper closure on her relationship with Yuuhi? Perhaps. But to me a large theme was also the contrast between Mimiru's insecurities and the fact that she had already been accepted and appreciated by her friends, and I'm glad I got to see what little I got to see of her story.

Thanks for the manga and thanks for the scanlation.

D: so sad it's over it really was a cute one. even sadder that we got no actual yuriness whatsoever, but it's probably not the author's fault.
i'll miss this not-yuri :meguuusad:
