I might be crazy, but isn't the reason why the saint has a problem with Absolute here because he can use healing magic like this? I thought healing was supposed to be for God's faithful causing her to accuse him of stealing the ability or something, but re-reading the story, I guess I just made it all up?

soooomethin tells me this aint the last of the hero, thats for damn sure. I do wonder what the saint is gonna pull next, cuz I imagine she's probably the big bad of at LEAST the academy arc.
He does have an excuse though. Just that he doesn't know it. Only mc and saintess does know that the saintess magically drugged him with weird [magical spell] 'drugs', and then used manipulative words to incite/brainwash him into weird actions.

It wasn't the hero who beat her up, it was her shitty father.....which makes it even worse, because I'm pretty sure nobody would say a thing in how a "noble" raises their child/ren (meaning, even if Absolute were to go to the king and show Alicia's wounds, the best reply he'd get would be "mind yo mf'ing business"). At least, by healing her, he took the physical pain

Or, hear me out, it is his fault for slacking on his training. Dud has been called a hero and it's gone to his head. The chump just believed he could swing his sword and all was good. He ignored anything that required actual thought and this is the result.
As a result of his willful naivety and ignorance, his mental and magical resistances are weak, and lack of training has made him an easy target for those that would use him as a cats paw.
So yes while he was used by the Saintess as a pawn, it is a weakness completely of his own making. True there is no guarantee he could have resisted her simple manipulations, but his utter disregard for anything other then swinging his sword made her ploy all the more easy.

That's not what I meant, the hero got her in that situation. His stupid act got her abused. Now it's just him that got punished, in his eyes. At least he should know to learn from it
