yume didn't have much of a reaction by looking at hama's sign so maybe it's actually pretty innocuous

It would be interesting to know what accent the original Japanese was going for - I'm assuming it wasn't vaguely German?

I wonder if the twin who was bleeding from his eyes is fine. Seems suspicious that we only saw the face of one twin on the final page...

Probably an American one. In the original, his accent mostly appeared as words written in katakana instead of kanji or hiragana (to show he was pronouncing them strangely), but some of the expressions he used, like the "Hurry up!", were English transliterated into katakana, i.e. "Harri appu!". Following the traditions of our forefathers, he was made German instead (Ace Attorney's Manfred von Karma was an American in the original Japanese lmao).

In it's own way it's kind of sweet she entertains the idea of it being a prank kind of thing instead of the darkest possible options.
You know, I can actually see Kuroiwa doing that. Give them the most horrifying grey jobs even by this manga’s standards, then randomly blindside them with a completely ordinary non-supernatural prank just to mess with their heads.

They’ve survived worse, I’m sure they’re fine.
