I'm not saying it's her fault that she's in this situation.
I am saying though that it's her fault if she does not try to get out of it.
You don't necessarily need to be a criminal if your parents are criminals. You don't have to be a racist if they are racists. You were pushed down a hole, fine that's not your fault. But if you don't try to climb out and stay there, that IS your fault.
And once again. If the person that you care about the MOST in the entire world suddenly starts treating you codly and insulting, it's normal to ask yourself what the hell is going on.
Instead, Rua is an over the top cliche of the completely retarded and oblivious bully, and probably no matter what happens she will never change at all. That's the vibe this manga gives me, anyway.
Honestly, it's just bad writing...
Eloquently put,
You might not be the cause, but you're a damn fool if you don't do something about it, it's why I dislike damp MC's who forgive someone just because they're sorry (most of the time it being they're not sorry for the damage they've done, but the consequences it's had for themselves).
I'm up to chapter 42 in the LN translations.
Trouble I have with Rau is she's suffering from the same weapons-grade denial typically shown by idiot heros in
"I'm stupidly OP but got Yeeted from the hero's party" stories. Every single day/event/lunch time/night time/half time/hammer time, Rau seems to mysteriously forget what an entitled moron she is and what her actions have caused, only to be reminded again and again.
Srsly... even goldfish have better memories than her.
Occasionally I feel the possibility of redemption, or some shred of self-reflection when she cries or faces grim reality, only for her to stomp all over it in the next sentance by doing something monsterous, like trying to have a girl that hugged the MC killed (not even joking on this one...).
