Awww Kasumi is Haruyo's favorite sweets >w<
Thanks for the excellent translation... and translation notes! I like that this manga builds upon the tropes of Class S and explores them in interesting ways. Could even be postmodern!

She's actually three apples tall
I love how absolutely... I wanna say "sloughed over" but I feel like I'm misusing that word, but I'm not sure what the right word is, but like, Sumi looks so... "collapsed" I guess, in a kind of fluid-like way. Like if Haruyo (who herself is in very firm, angular, supportive shape) wasn't there then Sumi would just be messily sprawled on the ground.

and then also the way that sumi's face looks like a cute blob with big eyes and Haruyo is this eyeless, again more angular, kind of angelic looking figure (emphasized by the dramatic lighting or something, the light shining down from Haruyo's side towards Sumi's side which is more darkly lit).

I guess i feel like this manga does a really bananas job of having very subtle but effective stylization as far as poses and camera angles / framing and paneling and everything to really bring out the feelings of the characters. Just really properly Artistic with a capital A, not phoning anything in.

and then for that matter your translation and typesetting are exactly what this manga deserves (careful, knowledgeable, earnest, Really Darn Good)

tl;dr it's peak your honor

I'm not sure how to say this without sounding silly, but these last few chapters have felt so intense and exciting! This really feels like a whirlwind romance in a way you never really see in yuri, and I'm so happy to be caught up in it!

Thank you for the TL!

I don't think that sounds silly at all.
It has a very giddy, almost frenetic energy feel to it. Which is very interesting contrasted against all the visual and narrative metaphors of "cold" "chilliness" and "winter" because that usually means lethargy, solemnity...a sense of repose and rest.
But their dynamic is the complete opposite of that, which I think highlights the moments where Sumi-chan stumbles a bit, both when with Haruyo-nee-sama over "how you act toward me", and with her middle school acquaintance. Those feel like distinct bits where things freeze over again, but then Haruyo comes right back and thaws her worries and stress, and even though the ending was warm and intimate as they walked home together, that shift from the doused mood and worry over the memories resurfacing still feels energetic, much like how heat "energies matter".

Basically if you sound silly, then I will be silly right beside you, because I'm struggling to focus on painting as I come back to just look at this chapter every couple of minutes.

That second request to listen to her heart was actually to feel her boobs, right? That's why she was out of it in the next classroom scene.

Interesting that when Kasumi was rereading Haruyo's letters she imagined Haruyo with short hair since she had only seen her with short hair. But Haruyo at the time had long hair.

Thank you for such insights in TL note and comment section as always!
I really love it when an author presents a deep-meaning imagery and the translator/reader be able to decode and appreciate their intention. That to me is the peak of literature work.
