I don't buy that. Unless standards have dropped even more than I'd thought draftsmanship should still be a reasonably common skill for engineers. At least for the older ones that haven't retired yet.

almost no engineering is done on paper anymore, it is essentually exclysively done through cad software, modelling, and simulations, and no, they cannot draw anymore.
