Yes but some folks get off on doing it under their partners/friend's nose.

The friend is like "I'm so much better than my friend b/c I can steal their partner". The cheating partner feels like they're smart/strategic for pulling it off w/o their partner suspecting or that they're so important to their partner that the partner won't leave even if they know.
