When I read that scene of how Kaho first joined the group, a thought occurred. Despite how Renako views herself in comparison to the rest of them, the Quintet wouldn‘t have formed without her, and it’d fall apart without her, too. She approached Mai and Ajisai, Kaho approached her because they were friends, and although Satsuki was Mai’s friend first, she’d have left without Renako‘s intervention. This self-proclaimed “background character” is the heart and glue of the group.

And of course, as further proof of how much of the useless, unaware lesbian she is, the group she formed is made up of the school’s prettiest, most popular girls that she all finds attractive in one way or another. I’m both impressed and envious of her game.

I'm not sure that's an accurate translation. In the LN it was a guy, the same fictional character Renako admitted she had a crush to to Ajisai. I can't check the raw so I'm not sure if Kaho specified a gender in that panel.
