Iruma got used by his parent till his teenage and just at 14 he is adopted by loving and rich grandpa. Makes him having instictual wariness, but still naivity from not experiencing the life of demon world from young age.

Mafia IF:
Iruma is adopted since 4~5 years old and grow up with Mafia education, makes him know the inner working and darkness of the side yet still able to keep his innate kindness and hope.

Both are a nice way to see Iruma, and from Mafia Iruma, we can see how Iruma will be when he become the demon lord with all the education it bring: someone reliable who can plan his way through his want withut sacrificing his ideal and hope.

truly a beautiful twist, Kirio is a great foil if I get to see Iruma like this~
though I wonder to what extent the Six Fingers will play in this series, it seems like they are supporting Kirio without being subordinated by him(?) but if anything, the heist with Az & Clara, friendship bonding with Kiriro. Iruma's desires is really shining bright this chapter

This isn't the pure and lovable Iruma from the main series. Sure, Mafia Iruma is still nice but he's been in the mafia business for YEARS. He knows how to play others, befitting a Demon King.

I know we all want to talk about Iruma, and for good reason (I'm trying my best not to scream with that expression), but can we also highlight that as a child, Kiriwo gave A BOMB to a bunch of kids and CUT OFF HIS OWN FINGER to give to a girl? He didn't even awaken into his yandere side because of the girl this time, he's just an honest to God psychopath.

Actually, i'm kinda curious about this girl. I don't recall her having a counterpart in OG series, right? Yet, she looks like her character design got some thought put into. Makes me wonder if this isn't the last we've seen of her.

This girl did exist in the OG, she just was never explored again after her introduction (at least from where I'm at, which is just after Many Ears arc)

Oh, you're right actually, turns out i totally forgot about her And she got as much presence as she did here, so i guess it's up in the air if she'd ever appear again.
Her/Kiri(w)o's story in OG manga looks kinda mellow in comparison, though (chapter 32, if anyone needs a refresher, like i did).
