Goddamn, what a chapter to end a binge on. I wonder how this will change their relationship? It'll probably be a big help to her, since now she can talk to someone about it. But it's doubtlessly going to involve a lot more confrontation regarding her problems.

Her mother is also going to be a huge problem, too. I don't think she's hostile since she was perfectly willing to respect her daughter's preference to not audition, and was even legitimately surprised she decided to go for it. But I think she's too wrapped up in "mother knows best" and trying to support her daughter's success, all while oblivious that said daughter is suffocating under all the pressure. Much like how "you're prettier when you smile" can be well-meaning but is instead often unintentionally dismissive.
