I don't normally complain about manga. I can read all kinds of trashy garbages, but this one is getting on my nerves.

I like the premise, but the old man's "dark and troubled past" really overstayed it welcome and the reveal is underwhelming af so far.

I don't mind depressed doormat character, but they need to have some redeeming quality. So far, his redeeming qualities were his past deeds that technically doesn't happen in the story. It's getting really annoying.

The current arc is really bad too. It's so stretched out, and feels like a "ragebait" with ntr undertone. The plot feels like running in circle for 10 chapters then just keeps escalating like children trying to one-up each other wih nonsense.

Just yikes

Do you guys think the arc would of been better if it was a flash back arc that showed how he defeated the villains and saved the monstergirls?

I'm gonna try to be a bit more nuanced than a bunch of the commenters here and say this:

I am all for a story about a teacher with strong morals who saved a bunch of monsters being experimented on and effectively helped raise them to sentience. It's a neat premise. The art is great too and I generally like him. I like the subversion of the snooty teacher also being a genuinely good teacher who has the interests of his students at heart and I actually want to see them become good friends.

The biggest issue with this story for me is the pacing It is jarring and jumps absolutely everywhere. It never feels like these arcs are leading into each other, they just kind of start out of nowhere. It leads to a really obnoxious reading experience.

I'm also not a fan of the harem that is clearly being set up. As I mentioned, Washio was pretty much an adult raising a bunch of monster children. Doesn't feel right for them to all be fawning over him. Would honestly prefer the author having the balls to actually follow through with the whole "this is a fleeting love that they'll eventually outgrow."

I've rated this a 4 but it's still in my follows because it's monstergirls. I rate other series a 5 or 6 and ignore them. This story is 100% carried by being a monstergirl-focused series but god it's so bad. I'm just talking about the plot and pacing here too; it's so half-assed how Washio is distrusted, how the sinister lich just walks around freely in the school, how the plot just drops the answers into their laps, and how the arcs end so abruptly.

The only good thing about this is there's a monstergirl harem, and it's a pretty weak one at that. Not much appeal but watching cute girls doing cute things. There's no feeling of romance in it.

Man, I really wanted to see a harem monster girl but damn, the story telling is so ass, and I'm saying this as a Isekai enjoyer... Damn

This is an incredibly frustrating read.

The main character is a spineless gob of jello on the floor. An unremarkable stain of a man. You've never read a manga with such a doormat as the main character. He's so dense it's downright insulting to the girls who constantly make the unfortunate mistake of talking to him.

We haven't yet had a scene where he sucks the dick of someone who's insulting him, but it feels like we're getting closer every chapter.

When the main character gets shit-talked in other trash manga like this, it's usually building towards a cathartic scene where the MC steps up and aura farms a bit, or at least smacks back somehow.

Here, the main character:
  • Gives up
  • Doesn't try
  • Leaves
  • Doesn't do anything
  • Pushes away his students ("They'll be better off without me 😢")
  • Doesn't deserve to be on-screen
It's such an elaborate circlejerk in every aspect.
A parody of a harem story, but the author forgot that it was supposed to be a parody so they're playing it straight even though the main character is a joke.

Here's a theory. The author is really into NTR but is too much of a pussy to draw porn, so instead he decided to draw a manga where the main character intentionally cucks himself at every opportunity.

Like he's super strong, but it would be a life-ending disaster if someone finds out his identity, so the author never has to break the cycle of frustration where he gets insulted and does nothing for 50 chapters straight. And of course he will never catch on to the fact that everyone wants to fuck him.

The monster girls are nice though.

It's actually so sad, because the author was actually on the right track for something interesting. I can't remember a single manga, where the MC is in a similar situation. He got reincarnated, he lived his life, but never really achieved anything and is now basicaly just a broken older man. There is actual potential in that. Hell, you could keep the premise of this manga the very same, remove the harem, make it focused on the main girl and have her basicly reignite his will to live. It would make for so much greater of a manga than this. Fucck, just remove the god dammn harem. That alone would improve this by like 1-2 rating points.
