The takedown was intentional due to mangadex policy changes but then our team talked with the mods and they clarified that our personal details and IP address will not be shared with copyright agencies.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason to build a currency system into a site and give "100 bonus coins" for creating an account, and build a framework where "free" is labeled on a chapter by chapter basis

It's been like that for last 8 months. I just borrowed the source code from another group and I don't have the time or money to modify it. So the Coin system remains. Yes in future if we publish some original work (not scanlations) that will be paid for sure. I donno why I am explaining all this, but I hope you guys got your answer.
