It's the king. King has a "status edit" power. He is overwriting NPC statuses and adding whatever he likes. It's just like how Ainz changed the status of Albedo to be in love with him at the start of Overlord. Same principle. He can even edit players statuses as seen in this chapter. But he can't use it on Kenji for some reason so he will use the CF and MC to manipulate him. MC will cuck Kenji once again though unwillingly this time. But as usual, CF will love it.

It's just a bullshit story at this point (not like it wasn't before). But If you add mindcontrol as a power as retardedly as this, you can't salvage your story in any shape or form going forward anyway.

Making assumption based on previous story arcs, this one is likely just another chapter in the longer adventure. After they defeat the “King” (and maybe another Demon King), they will move to the next story.

Big bad are probably the gods who created the demon kings and summon the heroes.
Mikihito is also empowered, so he might return as antagonist in later arc.
