Besides the denseness of the MC, I'm 99% sure all the girls in class knows that male guardians are female. They only chase after real males, not the male guardians. The only reason they don't go after the MC is that they think of him and Rui as a pair. None of the girls are thirsty enough to still him for herself. They seem to look up to Rui, so that makes sense.

On a random thought, you know it would actually be funny if they made this manga with the gender ratios reversed. The school then assigns crossdressing guys to guard the girls. Whether they put a pure masculine guy or a feminine looking guy as the guards, I think it'll both be hilarious.

I've seen 1:5, 1:49, 1:20, but what's new is the reverse chastity. Reverse chastity is closer to gender role swap. So it's not just about the skew in gender population.

And the demand for men is kinda like the 1:5 manga (on practical level). The manga should show far greater demand. Latvia is experiencing a social trend where women are hiring men for household tasks and repairs due to a significant gender imbalance in the country. This has led to the rise of services often referred to in the media as "husbands for an hour".

I understand that the core demand in such stories is emotional or romantic. But I think what's happening here is that the authors threw in the hyper-polite Japanese social etiquette which downplays the urgency.
