Maybe there are only a fixed number of slots for magic spells. If so, it would make sense to discard most other healing spells for a high level one. Especially, so if the high level healing spell only consume 65 MP out of her 9999 MP – so 153 usages.

If it was a guaranteed full heal for 65 mana, how low hp do you or your guards have to not be able to not have more effective HP than the monk's maxed out? The damage was a flat 10 per step.
