Some of these students (specifically that male one towards the end) seem dead for good so there is permadeath, just not of the waifu tsukumogami variety.

I’m talking about deaths among main characters, not supporting characters or background ones. For example, now in Tsugumomo, it doesn’t matter who dies, I won’t feel anxious, because I know the characters will be resurrected somehow. In fact, I wasn’t even afraid that Ouhi would die. I even mentioned this in a comment I made on earlier chapters. I was certain the author would find a way to bring Ouhi back to life.

And it doesn’t have to be a bloodbath like Shingeki no Kyojin. Just killing a single main character is enough to make you really anxious about the upcoming fights.

I said this once somewhere else but it is odd that Tsugumomo never got into any trouble with these scenes, while Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs has some controversy despite being waaaay more tamed in comparison.

Yuuna was far more popular than tsugumomo.

Popularity doesn't have too much to do with it in this case (exposure will always be something of a factor); they are serialized in different magazines with different audiences.

Although parents actually have complained about the contents of non-seinen comics quite often the last decade or so. It just tends to go under the radar unless someone is really loud about it. To Love-Ru pushed the envelope hard for shonen content but somehow nothing really happened until Darkness - and even then Tokyo concluded it was fine.

It is strange that Yuuna caught as much flak as it did. Pretty tame in comparison to Darkness which was still running in Jump Square for a time.

Kazuya had to face the side effects of Sosugu’s liquor and now he’s on the receiving end of it (lucky bastard) also we seen Sunao get horny once or twice like that time in the fake marriage arc where she kissed him and the flashback where she topped him during spiritual intercourse she was in full control of her actions and she had a confident smile on her face which I’ll never get over

But now we have to wait for Sunao to eventually tell Kazuya and Kiriha how she got captured and what Wagou told her about her brother Suou she’s gonna owe them an explanation anyway.

Kiriha especially needs to hear this cause she and Kanaka killed Suou without even realizing it

(he was the Otoroshi that she and Kanaka killed in one hit)

I don’t think Sunao will be mad obviously but she will want them to understand and Kiriha might be in shock especially Kazuya when she tells them this and this will be her opening up emotionally

I also hope she tells Kazuya and Kiriha that Wagou wanted to tattoo Kanaka

Then this leads to Kazuya wanting to help Sunao find Wagou so she doesn’t face this burden alone and protect her so she doesn’t get tattooed again or worst even killed and Sunao will want to pay Kazuya back for healing her so maybe she will help him with finding Arumi and preparing him to fight Curse Allies and she will make damn sure Wagou doesn’t lay a finger on Kazuya as he will want to tattoo him cause he’s Kanaka’s son.
