This is pretty damning proof. I'm assuming the original was "atta" because "was there" is a literal translation, but it's commonly used as "found it". Any human would understand this line as "Ah, here it is" or, "Ah, found it." MTL will often translate things like that into incomplete sentences like that because Japanese will commonly drop the subject from the sentence whenever the subject is obvious to a human listener. That's how you get sentences with JUST a verb, like "suki: to like" or "atta: existed"
