Yes, this looks very realistic - I’ve been thinking about it myself.

However, an important point cannot be ruled out: who exactly they approach with their questions.

Sousuke is completely unfamiliar with this settlement. Misato, for example, could be leading him only to those streets or houses where people have an extremely limited understanding of the essence of the problem. Some of them may genuinely know nothing; others may be afraid not of the house itself or of Riki, but of the actions of their clients. In any case, Misato fulfilled her main role - she did not allow Sousuke to do this alone.

Misato accompanies him from the train car, and at the very end we see that she consciously takes a risk and mixes alcohol with the psychotropic substances already present in Sousuke’s bloodstream, which speaks to her extremely dangerous nature.
So, she purposedly lead him to houses where she knew people wouldn't talk openly to him? Even though they targeted neighbor( in this case, people very close to the house) and it still left the feeling of "something's wrong here" with Sousuke? That's a very good approach!

For poetic approach, however, i'm still with Sousuke on this one. If the entire town knew and wanted to hide the story, it would be simpler. I've been in small towns with one bad gossip, i think you know a story or two about this kind of thing, too. It takes years, decades, but as the old people who know the truth keeps dying, and the young people don't preserve said things( unless it's cultural), then the story dies too. But here, it's still alive and brings discomfort.

Which brings us to...if the story is still alive, why would Rika appear in the class reunion, knowing she was still hated by some people( who knows how many)? Is the entire class reunion just a fake excuse to lead Sousuke into trusting Misato, while she prepares her chance to blackmail him with the fake photo she's going to take? Is it one of Rika's goals to "taint" the entire town, avenging her family for how it "tainted" them, making it know that she will never forget nor forgive everyone here?

2026/01/08 will be the release date for Tankobon vol 6, so we might have some answers/fixes regarding the chapters about the SD card.

Hello everyone. We continue the theory of Rika's innocence.
What happened ten years ago in Rika's hometown? Most likely, the villagers found out that Misato and Rika were half-sisters. They all thought that Rika's mother took Misato's father away, and began to bully her. As a result, she committed suicide. When Rika arrived from the university, everyone started bullying her, after which she decided to leave the village. There are several explanations for this:
1. After a while, the villagers realised that they were wrong, which is why this is a painful story for them and they do not want to remember it.
2. 2. Rika's house hasn't been sold in ten years. Because Rika was left alone and she didn't want to go back to the village.
For all ten years, Misato wanted to ruin Rika's life and followed her, but she was able to find her two years ago. Most likely, she found out that Rika is married and has a child from the photo on the social network. She somehow found out where Rika lives and got a job at the nearest school to work as a teacher. So she was able to get very close to Rika and it became even easier to follow her. Perhaps she followed the meeting of Rika and Shingo, after which she offered Shingo herself as an actress. Rika just advised Singo where and what kind of video to record. Rika didn't know who the actress was. Singo knew everything, but didn't say anything at the interrogation.

I was only speculating earlier.

It’s not at all necessary that the problem lies in the house itself or that the “services” were provided specifically there.
When such suspicions arise, in my opinion it makes more sense to address questions to the lower social layers (for example, people dependent on alcohol, rather than just neighbors).
I meant the target audience of these services, first of all those who would be more inclined to talk to a stranger, for instance in exchange for a small favor or payment.

I reread your previous thoughts and started wondering: what if this house is still functioning?
And operates at night - exactly at the time when Misato did not allow Sousuke to be outside.
After all, Sousuke never got close to it and didn’t inspect it.
And in reality, it isn’t for sale at all, but is simply a local “landmark” - literally a brothel primarily for visitors from other cities?
And precisely for this reason information about it isn’t shared by the neighbors, at the very least because they receive payment for staying silent or are threatened by a criminal group.

As for the SD card sources, I strongly doubt that they would shed light on this “brilliant” plotline. To reveal it properly, many things would have to be disclosed, which, as it seems to me, would be far too early to show - though maybe you are right.

Not a problem. The manga can go to whatever way it wants, so i'm not discarding that speculation of the list, just saying.

I believe this is roundabout. You nailed it right at the start. The problem lies with the person, the "source" of these rumors, and who their target audience is( as you pointed out). Unless this was a full prostitution spot, we can assume it was a single woman's house.
The thing is: this is not about alcohol or drugs. We KNOW who the target audience of a whore, who lives in a small settlement, is. I've worked in one such by about 3 months. And yes, you will find it's married men. And how easy it is to blackmail them, with threats of jeopardizing their marriages.

Agreed on this one. I don't agree that it was a brothel before( 売女 really is a derogatory form for prostitute, a whore itself, not something "formal". The formal would be 淫売屋. It really points out to how not "formal" or akin to red-light district that thing was. Not "cheap", but rather not "approachable as a normal prostitution spot", if you know what i mean), but nothing opposes the theory that it grew to something more in the years after, nor that it could become a closed secret( remember the target audience).

I understand what you’re getting at based on your experience, and it does look convincing.

After reading, another thought came to mind. As far as I’ve seen (maybe I missed something), during the investigation with Misato they were only able to make contact with elderly men.
To me, it looks like the story of this settlement might simply be a reflection of what is currently happening with Sousuke.

What if the actions of, for example, Rika’s mother or an older female relative left the same kind of mark on the local residents (the men), and their marriages were already destroyed in the same way as their emotional well-being?
And the story of this settlement is presented as a second possible development of events.

Let me try to explain.
The author may want to show what could have been - or even what will be - for Sousuke depending on one choice or another regarding his current marriage and the situation with Rika.
This is also convenient from the perspective of a behavioral model that Rika could have inherited from older relatives, possibly across more than one generation.

What I mean is that, from the male point of view, they are not trying to hide shame or hatred as such, but rather to forget personal trauma and their own pain.

But again, this doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. At the moment, in my opinion, the author is hinting too clearly at the obvious option - the one you also elaborate on, and with which I generally agree.
It’s just that, the same way it was with the sisters - when the author led us by the nose by deliberately making one of the sisters more “convenient,” so that we would consider her more inclined toward an alliance with Rika - he might be intentionally misleading us with the entire story as well, using fairly ambiguous wording and arguments, in order to surprise us in the end.

If I were the author, I would do exactly that - especially when dealing with a “Hinamizawa village”–type plot.

Hello. I also have a few ideas why the villagers didn't want to talk about the Miyase house.
The first idea. As we can see, Soske interrogated mostly older men, and they could be potential customers of the "Miyase brothel house". Ten years ago, all the villagers learned the truth about the Miyase family. The truth about the visitors to the house was also revealed, which destroyed their families. These old men didn't want to remember their shameful stories, so they didn't tell about it. Misato purposely took Soska to such neighbours.
Second idea. The story about the "brothel" was just a rumour. For the first time when a rumour about a "brothel" appeared, the villagers began to mock the Miyase family. Subsequently, the family could fall apart, or something even more terrible happened to it. After a while, the villagers learned the truth and realised that they were very wrong. They began to feel guilty and for them "the story of the Miyase family" became a shameful memory.
The third idea. The villagers didn't want to talk about their former villagers to someone they didn't know. They don't know Soska, and he introduced himself as Rika's classmate, not her husband. Most likely, if he had said that he was Rika's husband, his fellow villagers would have told me something.
As for the fact that Miyase's house was called "a prostitute's house", it is most likely that some woman from Miyase's house took someone else's husband away. Most likely this man was someone from the Misato family. That's why Misato gave Soska a sleeping pill. So she wants to take revenge on Rika. Misato wants to get pregnant from Soska, she doesn't care if there's a video of their sex. Misato's pregnancy may also be Rika's plan to change the children's places later. Then the DNA test will definitely show that it's Soska's baby.

I have a conspiracy theory for Misato and Rika and what the plan itself is. Why did she give me sleeping pills? And why should she have sex with Soska? Let's start with the fact that the meeting of classmates is a deception, it's just a reason to detain Soska. Most likely, Misato should get pregnant from Soska. She doesn't need a video of cheating. Since Rika said she was ready to conduct a DNA test and confirm that the father is Soska. Then she needs his child. How to get it? To force someone to give birth from Soska. That's why Rika called Misato to see if her plan worked. Most likely, Rika's "deeds" were to find a woman who agreed to do it and put her in Soska's bed. But how to do it if he's always at home and looking for Siho? The ego must be escorted out and forced to look for Rika. And then Siho comes into play, Rika instructs her to escort Soska. Rika and Siho are in collusion, Siho is leaking information about Soska. Most likely she's not even Soska's daughter and even knows about it. And all the meetings with the alleged "Rika's parents" are meetings with the real father of Siho. Still, Siho's words that she loves Soska are a pretend and a way to manipulate him. That's what her mother taught her. Of course, there was Rika's first attempt to put a woman in Soska's bed, but it failed. After that, she had to run away to try to make the second one. The first attempt is Akiba. Rika recruited Akiba after a sports day at school. Rika realised that Akiba fell in love with Soska, and made an offer to make her pregnant by him. To which Akiba agreed, she became a double agent. Since Rika knew that Soske was watching her, she decided to make him even more angry, so much so that he made a mistake. First, she merges the SD card from the video, and then downloads the video from the bar. Soske gets angry and almost makes a mistake. Most likely, Akiba at some point realised that it was not right and decided to betray Rika. She decided to help catch Singo. When Shingo was caught, Akiba went to Rika and said their plan was a failure. Rika decides to escape and try to realise a new plan.

What happens if sousukue don't get hard when she is trying to insert it?

An erection won’t occur even in the current situation.
Gentlemen, do not forget the mercy from above that was bestowed upon Sousuke by the repulsive god NTR - erectile dysfunction!

But his opponent is dangerous. What if Misato resorts to additional pharmaceutical stimulation? - though I’m not sure whether the heart would withstand such an experiment.

Another hypothesis, more for the sake of plot variety, is that Misato does not intend to film a fake "betrayal" of Sousuke.

In the conversation before falling asleep, Misato said that the main character shouldn’t worry about the "matters" she was supposed to handle during her trip.
Because those matters are already settled and the problem resolved. She said this just before Sousuke collapsed - I think she was referring exactly to the substance in Sousuke’s glass.

The last frame definitely looks intentionally like an attempt at another trap.

But if you think about what we actually see there:

  1. Misato is naked down to her underwear on top.
  2. A camera directed at Sousuke and Misato’s apologies.
But the scene could be something completely different.

For example, Misato’s task at this moment might be to prevent Sousuke from going outside at night.
Misato needs to go out now and make sure Sousuke definitely won’t wake up and ask questions.
The nudity is not part of a sexual act but just part of her changing into different clothes before going outside at night.

The photo - as proof for someone that Sousuke is in her hands, or as a memory for Misato herself (perhaps the act or closeness is needed before the decisive confrontation).

I understand that, as usual, it will probably end up pretty banal, but I think my version would be more interesting.

It's very simple, wait until both children are born. After that, come with your own Soska’s child. Rika might run away for a year.
There are some problems here.
1 - As @eren760 stated, you can have a DNA test before the baby was born( from about 7th to 8th week). Rika was 7 Weeks and 4 days in, so she was in the range for a DNA test. And now she's about her 11th~12th week, meaning 3 months. If Misato gets pregnante now, the "premature excuse" would not work, and Rika disappearing for way more than a year to cover that seems unlikable;

2 - With this base, @UROD-PC would personally bludgeon MITA and Hakaru Itsuru sensei, because it would make the entire SD card scenario even more senseless.
  • Rika's in the range for a DNA test;
  • She traps Sousuke in the bathroom and both hug naked, when she asks him if he wants to do a test;
  • This clearly shows that she was pretty confident with this part. Playing it safe.
  • Then Momonga gets a new video. She knew that Sousuke knew( at the time) it was her, so the likeability of him wanting a DNA test increases;
  • Then she runs away;
  • Then she would ask Misato to have get pregnant from Sousuke out of the blue? While she( Rika) would be about 3 months pregnant? So she( Rika) could switch the babies?

This would work only if:
  • Her love language is sex, and she hugged Sousuke to see if he could get hard at her, to see if she still loved her;
  • She knew Sousuke was dumb enough to not ask for a test under normal( even forced) circumstances;
  • Shingo jeopardized her by posting the video( i have my doubts about this part even to this day. It doesn't "fit" with his narrative);
  • The entire "Misato getting pregnant" scenario is discarded, for the sake of respecting our intelligence.

We've been hitting that Misato's ties with Rika were more pointed at a trap from Rika to Sousuke. I like your hypothesis, because we're turning the thing upside down:

Rika's call could be tied to other issues;
This entire scenario has Misato as a stalker that's trying to catch someone( Sousuke, Rika or whatever);

The photo could've been her way to blackmail this someone, or a personal memory. And it poses 2 interesting scenarios.
1 - If it's for Blackmail against Sousuke or Rika, the poetic irony already hits it strong from the NTR god: Both Rika and Sousuke knows that he can't get it hard unless it's Rika( she may not fully grasp the Akiba scenario), so Misato would be the only one to fall here;
2 - Considering a personal memory, but also the possible outcome of 1, that implies Misato is a little pathetic on her own. As opposed to her sister, she doesn't even have the courage to get phisically close to him for even a hug or handshake, having to appeal to drugs...

Totally agree with you. It's just that there are no more adequate theories that could explain the cooperation between Rika and Misato. All of Misato's actions indicate that they are opponents. Here are some actions that point to this:
1. Spying on Rika's husband.
2. Telling the "truth" about Miyase's house.
3. Knowing about Rika's affairs.
4. Misato giving Sousuke a sleeping pill (in order to lure Rika out).
I think Misato has been dressing up as Rika since her college days. That's how the "House of Prostitutes" rumor started. Misato had sex with many people under the guise of Rika. Subsequently, Rika's family was forced to leave their hometown, and Rika had to hide her identity on social media. Two years ago, Misato tracked down Rika and continued to do her own thing (playing the role of Rika). It got to the point where Misato played Rika's role in videos on the Momonga channel, something Rika had no idea about.

I understand your concerns, and agree wit them. But there's another interesting point here:
  • We don't have many theories of why Misato and Rika are allies;
  • We do have many theories why they'd been cooperating.

The second is mostly about Rika using blackmail or being manipulative torwards Misato. But it could be the complete opposite, that Misato's into her and planning ahead of trying to deal a blow into Rika.

I disagree with the "Misato's posing as Rika's theory, but there is one thing that caugh my eyes and could be linked to Momonga, or something similar to this theory of "pretend": Misato's wardrobe.

Now, i don't like this sort of thing, with judging people from how they look, but...She does dress rather conservatively. Long robes all the times, long sleeves even when inside the RV. Sousuke himself noted that, when younger, Misato looked kinda gloomy( long bangs with glasses hiding her eyes), and became a real beauty now. It's noticeable. So, when something like that happens, you'd expect a boost in self-esteem, enough to dress more boldy, show more of yourself, right? Then why doesn't she?

Either that's just her...or...she has something to hide.

Could it be the mole? Does she have physical scars? Emotional scars?
