kompromat is pretty much a rule in this, and many bussiness like this one. She definetly has some of her own( like the video of Shingo), so people after her would be kept at bay.

I don't know who is after her, nor how dangerous they can be, or their level of resources, so i can't properly project into how much deeper the entire thing goes, for now. She hiding her face and marrying Sousuke, while changing her surname, mixes well with her image cleaning and deflection points from earlier.

I liked this scenario. So she was bent into keeping Sousuke at bay, while not knowing who was responsible for his change in behaviour, nor how it could affect her? Fits well.

Just some 2 minor points:
  • Senna fell victim of violence under Shiratori, not directly tied to Rika this time( punishment, but not by Rika);
  • The unnamed couple were Kamizaki and his wife. Kamizaki was one of the original 5 that Sousuke was investigating. In the end, Kamizaki and his wife managed to heal themselves and their relationship;

About Shingo, there's some issues:
  • If he managed to not cut the contents with her face in the SD card, to which Sousuke would see, followed due on posting the happening bar video( which was censored): this means Rika would only be able to find out about the true contents after checking the SD Card herself...
  • ...but that hinders the theory of the other SD card kinda useless, since she would need to rendezvous with Shingo, check the card, erase the videos and put his other video in there...

The only way i believe that could happen between both instances is if Shingo stole the SD card, however she prepared another one in advance(unable to trust him, and giving him a fake card would work well, considering he was now a lure to Sousuke, and if caught, the contents would not compromise her), and switched both when a quickly( unsuspected) rendezvous happened later. It'd be safer, from a technical POV, and cunning about her, so as to not get caught.

This happens because, as you said, as a "Queen", she MUST manipulate her pawns properly, so the game can keep going in her favour.And as much as she knows about Sousuke, she knows about Shingo's line of thought as well.

We don't know her exact ties with Misato, but i agree that, through all this ordeal, Rika failed to pinpoint who addressed Sousuke, she was blindsided, to taking any possible, or viable, routes is still in question for her.
I want to say about the "unknown couple" from chapter 14 (first picture). Pay attention to:
1. A man's hairstyle.
2. A woman's hairstyle and clothes.
3. A woman's bent arm.
Does a man's hairstyle remind you of Singo's hairstyle? The woman's hairstyle doesn't look like Rika's hairstyle? The woman's clothes are the same as Rika came to the "sports day" in. And most importantly, a mole on the arm (you need to take a closer look to see).At that moment, Rika saw Soska and Akiba together, then she began to suspect that Soske could cheat on her. I think Rika didn't even suspect that Soska was watching her. She realised it only after stealing the sd card.

Regarding the unnamed spouses, this is not the family of banker Kamizaki Subaru, because in chapter 14 they are already in the classroom taking part in the filming. The unnamed family arrives next in line and finds Souske and Akiba near the entrance to the study classroom, and they also have different masks.

I see. I was thinking about chapter 17 at the time, my bad!

Regarding the freelancer’s family, on the day of the event Rika met with Shiratori and gave him consultations about a new, stricter role model - he mentions this himself. Yes, Rika didn’t specify the exact purpose, but still, part of the blame indirectly lies with her.

Even in the Tankobon version, we can't see the mole on the woman's arm or face, and the hair color was different( light brown, instead of black). Also, the hair ends of Rika are straight, the woman's lightly curly/split. And her clothes were not exactly the same color.

But...

1 - She was hiding the part of her arm with the mole in her chest;
2 - The mole in her face could've been hidden with make-up;
3 - Possible wig;
4 - The woman didn't utter a single word in this stance;
5 - Probably the shade helped disguise a little of her clothing;

It could've been her, and that's how she managed to find out about Akiba-sensei.
On the day of the event, she advised Shiratori( a consultation), about a new role in his videos;
She was trying to break Shingo into Shiratori's business, albeit disguised( though, it could be just to walk around school less noticed);
She probably saw Sousuke there and Panicked, jeopardizing a possible joint-venture between Momonga and Shiratori;
So she "shifted" her main focus to Akiba, because she would compromise Sousuke, and in this case, Rika's "clean image".
Kinda interesting to theorize this, though is more of yet another conjecture by my part.

Indirectly, though. I also remember this part. In the happening Bar, Shiratori talked about this thing with forced sex, almost rape, and how he didn't properly like it( probably a NTR complex of his part).

Rika's response was that it was good for engagement, and a lot of women enjoyed it.

Of course, it’s very tempting to see Rika’s direct presence in chapter 14.

But if Sousuke was noticed in chapter 14, I think this information reached Rika indirectly.
Remember the moment when the protagonist saw 40 notifications in Rika’s messenger (and after that, Rika never left her phone unattended)? I think it could have been a chat of Shiratori’s victims, which Rika joined in order to feed on their suffering from the inside and satisfy her fetish. That’s where she could have learned that a couple without masks had been seen before meeting Shiratori.

I want to add to the theory about the sd card. Rika specifically revealed her face and Singo's face on video. With this, she wanted to distract her pursuers from her family, or rather from Soska.
Singo, suspecting that Sosuke is watching them, he doesn't tell Rika about his guesses. When he sneaks into the room for the sd card, he gets the idea to immediately upload a video from the bar.
There is also a possibility that in the scene with the bathroom, Rika did not yet know who was watching them. After the bath, when Rika went to get water, she met with Shingo. But before the meeting, she saw the uploaded video from the bar. When meeting him, she found out that Soske was following them and that Shingo suspected him. At that moment, she realised that Singo wanted to destroy her family and she decided to replace the sd card.
In the scene with the buffet table, Rika noticed that Soske was in a bad mood, and Singo was also trolling him. Perhaps the conversation between Singo and Ricky takes place after the buffet and the replacement of the sd card too.
When Rika returns to the room and waits for Soska to talk and explain everything, Shingo's daughter comes and says that her mother went to watch Singo. Then Rika realises that it will be not only a conversation with Soske, but also with Singo's wife. Not wanting to tell everyone about her past, she decides to escape. Let's assume that Rika didn't have sex with Singo, then she could easily explain and tell everything to Soska. But Rika won't be able to tell Shingo's wife, since she dragged him into everything.

The mole on the arm hides in the chest shadow. It can be said that it merges with the shadow. It's available in both variants. We can also assume that this woman is Ricky's understudy. That's why she doesn't have a mole on her face. As we know, there was supposed to be a second video from school, but we never saw it.

Fits well in this story.

I'll also not discard that Rika probably had sex with Shingo, but at this stance with the contents of the SD card, she could try to fool and misguide Sousuke into her narrative, but Mitsuri was into her, so things would not be easy to excuse from.
But one point doesn't properly makes sense...

If she didn't know who was watching them, even on the bath, how would Shingo gain access to her room, to recover the card? Sure, we could try a "master key" theory that could be applied by them knowing some higher-ups in the spa.

Regardless of this "master key", there's also another point: the windows between the bath and the room were see-through. Sousuke spent the entire scene in a blindspot, and Rika used his shyness and hugged him from behind to stop him from looking at the room herself, so she definetly would see and cover for Shingo. The moment Sousuke turned around was when Shingo was probably gone from the room.

We can assume something like the following.

We aren’t shown the events that happened before this, nor what the plan for recovering the SD card originally was - mainly because there is no interrogation of Shingo in the story.

I think, for the sake of narrative simplicity, it could have happened like this: Shingo returns to his belongings and discovers that the SD card is missing.
The further logic is simple - who was near Shingo’s things, and who among them is currently absent? Obviously Sousuke, and this is reinforced by Shingo’s personal suspicions regarding Rika’s husband.

He then reports his findings to Rika, and she suggests checking his theory - which ends up bearing fruit.
And here, as it seems to me within this interpretation, when Rika leaves the room she is not completely certain that the culprit is Sousuke; only after the video from the bar is published does everything become clear.

I think that if it hadn’t been Sousuke, they would have continued acting according to the old plan - searching the rooms of everyone who was close to Shingo’s belongings.
And that essentially means Mr. Shingo Mori’s wife, who actually looks like an even more likely candidate, given her jealous nature, which I assume is known both to her husband and to Rika herself.

Let me digress for a moment.
Of course, everyone can have different opinions.
But in my personal view, Rika’s plan with the SD card is, at this point, the dumbest and most contrived plot device in the whole story so far.
Whatever psychological motives we try to attribute to Rika - passion, feeling untouchable, or a pinch of supposed brilliance -the risk simply wasn’t worth it, and as we see, it ultimately led to failure.
And yes, as far as I remember, Shingo Mori mentioned that the hotel belongs to one of his close clients from his spa salon.

And a couple more thoughts.

At the moment, Shingo Mori is not a “defeated” character. He is an essential part of the story that has not been told to us yet, and I think everyone would agree that he will reappear in the plot with his own perspective on the situation.

But even now, an important element and the narrative trigger for the trip have not been shown to us - specifically, what exactly caused the suspicion, what alarmed them, and what led them to believe that someone was watching the Momonga channel.

Among the major events that were shown to us, there is nothing that would directly relate to the channel.

Shiratori’s downfall can be explained in the simplest way - his entire activity is like walking through a minefield, especially after the coercion incident. He has no protection from revenge by his clients, and most importantly, from jealous rivals. On top of that, he was appointed to a position responsible for distributing those recommendations.
If people are willing to compromise themselves just to obtain recommendations, it’s strange that none of the senior members of the school have already organized a simpler corruption scheme for acquiring them - money in exchange for recommendations.

Akiba’s involvement is easier to explain through her attempt to have sexual relations with Sousuke.
The freelancer wasn’t even on that trip.
Which means it’s either just a narrative placeholder, or it will be revealed later.

I believe this is a misconception. Shingo WAS defeated, as in he was caught, social image broken, and became very meek. Mitsuri will probably keep him in a tighter leash, blackmailing him with the video.

What we didn't get was a proper closure from him.

Both Shiratori and Matsuo Jin had their inner monologue, and them explained their reasons and ties to Rika.
Shingo had his inner monologue but did not talk to Sousuke about the full plan for Momonga, nor how fully his ties with Rika worked.

As for the suspicions, we could assume 2 POVs.

Shingo's: during chapter 3, Sousuke and Akiba talk about a couple who was arrested by doing this kind of business, and how much they earned with it. Shingo's suspicions could be attributed to simpler causes, anxiety from scenario, and even gut feeling( Sousuke was on his tail since the happening bar).

Rika's: the way Shingo approached her with the idea of they being watched would not shake her, apparently( even in his inner monologue, she did look like she kept her cool). So Rika probably had countermeasures for short and medium terms. Thing is, who would she suspect to following her? That's still to be seen. She seems to plan for bigger threats, and the way she dealt with both Sousuke, Akiba, and Shingo's card, seems to imply it wasn't all that difficult( they weren't that big of an issue to her).

By “defeat,” I meant the full path all the “villains” had taken up to that point.

As for all the suspicions of surveillance, on the surface they seem to be aimed at Riku or Shingo themselves, or at some sort of connection between them.
The bar - a meeting of married people in an extremely seedy place, alone together.

But the plan that ultimately came about is tied specifically to the initial data of their business - not to their sexual relationship, which would have been easier to expose by other means. Neither Sōsuke nor any other character, as we were shown, was constantly watching them or taking any abrupt action against them.

What i meant about 2 POVs was that, while the feeling could be shared by both, the reasoning and cause could differ.

Cheaters are always suspecting, checking their phones, looking at any place, for a potential breach for them to get caught. Shingo's suspicions could be derived from simpler causes, this way. It doesn't even need "proof", just the gut feeling that "someone's into me" is enough to raise awareness. Almost paranoia.

Rika's suspicions could have a different basis/origin. But the thing is, as we don't know about her past, nor how she thinks, her reasoning is still open to interpretation at this point in time. Though, from what was shown to us, and the many theories and conjectures we had, one thing still screams here: she trusts too much into her understanding of Sousuke. That also would explain how she plays it safe so much with him.

Shinjo had a feeling that someone is watching them and he told rika about that and the most likely candidate was sousukue.Rika told shinjo let them have the evidence and both knew it was sousukue,then retrieve it.She made this retrievel plan only because it was sousukue if it was someone else it could not have worked.I think She even gave shinjo the idea to place a card when the door was closing in so it won't be locked and while rika distracted sousukue, shinjo retrieved the sd card.I think rika wanted sousukue to see her videoes probably to break his mind and removed the evidence in case sousukue tried to fight back and expose her publicly.
And the couple in chapter 14 is definitely not shinjo and rika.That guy was taller than sousukue and rika isn't flat chested like that girl.

This is very questionable from a logical point of view.

She didn’t “show” him a shocking scene - she handed him the evidence.
Not long ago, we saw how she tried to push teacher Akiba away from Sousuke through pregnancy-related manipulation, and without having solid proof that Akiba accepted her terms, she herself throws Sousuke into Megumi’s arms.

At the moment he was viewing the SD card, Sousuke was in a closed toilet stall - and anything he might have done once he locked himself in there would have been impossible to predict from Rika’s perspective, especially given her supposed brilliance. The moment he sees what’s on it, he has every opportunity to make a copy of the data.
If we base this on their past relationship as shown in the story, Rika has no information about how her husband might behave in a stressful situation like this. Their married life had been, from the outside, morally idyllic.
As someone experienced in manipulation, she should have understood that when dealing with male pride and similar matters, you cannot hand a person who is unstable at the moment of revelation a tool for your own destruction (not literally, but still).

Yes, all along we’ve been strongly hinted that Rika doesn’t regard Sousuke as her equal in either intellect or emotional capacity; she manipulates him using a false face and constant lies. But she has no experience handling him in dangerous or crisis situations.

I insist again that this was a risk - she could not be firmly certain that only Sousuke would see it. And as we saw, Shingo’s view that a defeated man must seek comfort in alcohol and Akiba means that, if their connection still remained, Akiba could influence his decision regarding the SD card - at least from Rika’s point of view.

To conclude, I agree that your interpretation fits the atmosphere of the manga and similar works extremely well, and will likely be partially realized in the end. But this only makes the entire sequence feel even more forced, and Rika’s logical choices even more absurd for someone portrayed as a brilliant manipulator. She gives up control of the situation far too easily if we rely only on the information we currently have, and the outcome leads to her tactical defeat far too quickly.
I was only trying to find a more convincing and logical explanation for this, and I still feel that one small detail or push is missing to justify her “risky” behavior.

In any case, I hope the author will reward us with a good plot twist in the end, and that all of this won’t be for nothing.

This is very questionable from a logical point of view.

Well this manga doesn't follow logic many times like how will you see what's inside that sd card(it's bigger in size since it's camera sd card)using I phone.
Yes rika's decision doesn't make sense.she didn't even consider that sousukue can copy the data probably thought sousukue is stupid which is actually true.Its just the shortcomings of author to not come up with better explanation.She isn't smart at all it's the other people who are too stupid.
Without akiba he would not come this far.In first chapter in the message the sender said"just as dumb looking as I heard" which means she consider sousukue as an idiot.

The author basically doesn’t bother with explanations, and without NTR this is impossible to watch without laughing.

If you think about it a little, the entire work is an attempt to draw attention to the life problems of intellectually disabled people whose development is stuck at the level of middle school - while their tormentor is in the same situation.

Taking this schizophrenic theory even further, all of it is the dream of a person with congenital defects of the central nervous system, and the surrounding characters, including Rika, are also patients of this institution.

The same narrative device is repeated over and over again, to the point where it simply feels inappropriate: Sousuke is a trusting and dim-witted idiot, he refuses to believe, he loves his family too much, loves children too much, and so on.
The protagonist of this story is not even a real person - he is a composite image of typical romantic-manga heroes and real-life NTR victims, with a touch of grotesque whenever the author really needs to show it (usually at the moment of “victory” over the “villain”).

He is always led by others and never an initiator; he is helpless without the people around him.
His entire life, he is literally led by the hand.
First by Rika, then Akiba, then his own little daughter, his mother, and now Misato.
He is helpless in many aspects of everyday life and can’t even properly organize his own trip to a place he has never been to.

  1. When going on a trip, he didn’t inform the people involved in the investigation in case something dangerous happened.
  2. He didn’t plan in advance where he would stay if Rika’s parents refused to make contact.
He gains the strength to fight and then falls back into despair only when the author needs him to.
It’s impossible to admire him, and it’s difficult to hate him - he is merely a mannequin wearing the mask of an NTR victim.

He has no friends, no inner core, no sense of humor or deep self-irony.
He isn’t just emotionally immature - he can’t predict the consequences of his own actions even three steps ahead, which speaks to serious intellectual problems.
He is absolutely empty inside; he has nothing except the image of a happy family and the memories Rika gave him, even if they were false.

The endless emptiness inside this character named Sousuke Yamada - on the outside he may look like any of us, but inside there is nothing that would make me empathize with him.

I’m sorry for the negativity, but the excuses the author built into the plot caused me deep emotional harm.
