This chapter is 218, not?
I'd assume so, I remember last time the chapter numbering was wonky as well. Something about the magazine chapter numbering and the Tankobon chapter numbering not being in sync,

Glad we cleared up he did in fact win purely by luck with a handful of seconds delay saving his ass from losing. Thought that was pretty apparent from last chapter but I guess some people just lack reading comprehension?
Seems like they were both so psyched out that they missed the strengths of their own positions. You see his opponent point out an advantage Rei had that Rei was completely unaware of.

Of course, you don't end up in that position unless you're on roughly the same level as your opponent, which is something he seems to be missing in his negativity.

That strikes me as an overstatement. Seems like Kiriyama had successfully blocked off all the avenues his opponent was trying to use to win. There was another avenue for his opponent to win, which he had not seen. But then, that's always true in Shogi or chess, right? You win because your opponent does not see the ways they could beat you.

And, Kiriyama won because he had slightly more mental fortitude. That is another name of the game. In the end, fair enough; it was a very close-run thing, but in a ruthless competitive match there's nothing wrong with a very close match going to the one with a little more guts.

Fair enough, but you have to be more specific about what kind of luck Rei had. He got lucky that Tsujii-san gave up quicker than him, but the match itself was pure skill instead of luck. They were so evenly matched that the result was ultimately decided in the psychological front, and it was Rei's skill that brought him to that position.

I'd say it just the classic "why they are not a perfect human being that always make the perfect and corect decision??????"

Luck is also a skill, dont be ashame, Kiriyama.

To reach the right state of mind to use luck Is a task that demands focus and discipline. Otherwise, luck may pass by while you are not looking.
