This manga has the issue of using the trope of "super serious dramatic thing" that is revealed to be actually comic relief waayyy too much. Soured my experience.

Nice little story. The mystery over their gender had to remain a mystery. The whole point is that their gender does not matter, giving it away would completely defeat the point of the entire story.

The author made the right choice.

The equivalent of a harem ending and they shrug and go "ah yeah, there was this one girl he got closer to, but who knows if they'll ever end up together-type shit".

I dunno when this was written, but all those gender-conforming ideas are a little old-fashioned for people of their age, no?
