Since it took his whole "police box" I wonder how much ammo he has for that pistol. I know Japanese police are far from American but do they have riot gear and things like that too?

Also, again I'm going off of American police a bit, but wouldn't dialing the emergency number go to dispatch first? They wouldn't pass along a cockroach call to an officer.

Didn't realise Japanese police carried guns
It becomes a plot point in a number of stories for why people become police, purely to have guns (Persona 4, one of cops admits it, Jagan, MC is a cop purely because hes obsessed with shooting, etc)

It's mostly older officers that carry the New Nambu M60 . The new standard regiment is the Smith & Wesson Model 360J "Sakura" at least since 2006. Detectives and plain-clothes officers usually carry the P230J. Ian at Forgotten weapons made a video about it a month ago.

Anyway, I wonder the supplies situation. Do he have a lot of extra uniforms? Ammo?

"Once in a century genius".

Seeing as the elven lifespan is measured in centuries and decades, I don't think it means that much.

compared to humans, it's like once a decade so maybe she means in comparison to all the elves in the world (tens of thousands?) so it still sounds fairly impressive. it's also possible humans can use magic in this world too so she's including humans in that count.

I doubt this small village actually knows the level of the all the magic users in the world though , so the title probably is exaggerated.

It is true though. Most officers have to go from routine patrol to the scene of a gruesome accident guaranteed to give mental scars. They are the first to respond to most dangerous situations trying to help but get nothing but hate and people trying to catch a single mistake. Cops deserve respect and love from the citizens they serve.

Police boxes are like micro-stations for the local beat-cops. They often deal with people who just walk in to report stuff, like lost or stolen items or pick-pockets. Or even dealing with a lost child who had the good sense to go to the Police Box the moment they saw it.

Of course, this means you get ass holes who would demand such petty things because they don't have to go through the filter of a dispatcher or emergency hotline operator.
