I mean, kissing feels like it should be the bare minimum/baseline for them at this point, so I don't really think that should be what's pointed at as "he's not acting too passive and scared".

If anything she's a saint, for continuing to put up with all the weird thresholds and arbitrary "timelines" from him putting pauses on their relationship.

And no, she's not innocent in their rocky relationship. Her extreme jealousy being the number 1 problem.
Then there was her pushing and pushing this relationship onto him without acknowledging his abandonment issues in the earlier chapters.

there's a tiny fake out that they don't actually do it (yuya falling asleep before kaede finished bathing) but they do after a very drawn out bath scene (like 3 entire chapters of them bathing together lmao) and then the next chapter cuts out to the day after and they do it again after waking up

from there they begin doing their marital duties on a fairly regular basis

the one thing I do appreciate about the manga is that they have the nikaido drama settled asap since the novel only settled it after an insanely long and uninteresting sports tournament arc that basically takes over after they start having sex (up until that point nikaido had not been mentioned in the novel) and ofc this upcoming character is a manga original creation so she's gonna be the worst probably 😔

nah in this manga it's DEFINITELY yuya's fault given his extreme and unwarranted resistance to showing kaede affection on his own and saying that he is in fact in love with her (kaede is rightfully insecure as yuya does a miserable job of keeping his distance from other girls in love with him, combine that with the manga version of him being bad at affirming affection and innocent jealousy snowballs quick), basically all of the progress he has made have been because kaede has literally forced him to do it. if you need to FORCE a partner to get closer to you, would you feel secure?

novel yuya, while he is still a ladykiller, is VERY affectionate towards kaede, and also makes it extremely clear that he doesn't even see other girls as women (he treats nikaido more like a little sister than a woman, not an ounce of fluster)

so yeah manga yuya IS the asshole but if he was closer to the novel version kaede would be in the wrong if she still behaved this way lol

And yes, this woman is an absolute SAINT for putting up with the MC. Literally every problem the couple has had so far was due to the MC self-sabotaging and roadblocking. They didn’t need to tell us that, anyone reading this with the bare minimum in social comprehension could see this.

this story is getting more and more annoying by the chapter. The MC is getting more and more herbivorous to give the author an excuse of why they wouldn't just fuck all the time while also lacking the usual exitement that comes when the characters are overly insecure and unsure of what to do as they are in a relationship already. Really this story could've ended 10s of chapters ago, I really hope there is plot comming or this will just turn stale.

Also I imagine that new character is gonna be a lot more annoying rather than exiting.
