My "opinion" is that you're going to deflect to avoid addressing that life for most people isn't as black and white as you and others callously believe it is. You can hate what you want to hate, but you have no right to dictate others choices or lives--and you have no right to assume for them.

Do I personally agree with it being necessary? No, I would prefer trauma be settled in healthier ways. Do I see that not everyone has the choice, money, support groups, or baseline fucking time to seek help in their lives? Yes, yes I fucking do--if I can't get disabilities treated because I don't have enough sheckles to throw at the wall, I sure as shit don't think every single individual, pedo or not, has the collective cents to pay to get properly treated!
