I’m play devils advocate here and say I honestly can see where she’s coming from. She wants to “build up” to it being a date by just hanging out first. Now is this the best way to present it? Not really in my opinion. Walking back what you literally just asked like a day ago is not ideal. Though we had to remember this is Kogahara we’re talking about. She’s basically as pure as a newborn when it comes to all of this emotional stuff. We also don’t know nearly as much about her as we do about Lemon. Please for the love of all that is holy let this lead to a Kogahara arc. Is it frustrating? Absolutely. Was I rolling my eyes reading it? Absolutely. Do I have faith the manga can turn it around? Yes. Onward the next chapters!

I completely agree on this second part and I genuinely hope this manga won’t be that predictable.

Lemon needs to win. That's the only thing author has in their mind since chapter 1. This is what happens when you start with terribly written bait and switch and try to write your way out of it to reach a specific ending instead of building things up. %80 of this manga's run time is treading water. Cut it all out and nothing of narrative value would be lost. It literally has no plot. Even the bodyswap is just "there" with no actual importance.

Sunk-cost fallacy. The only time I have invested a lot into a story and actively dropped it because it pissed me off was Nisekoi... too much wasted on that one... years lol
