I'm not really engaged with the premise given that it's yet another "enhanced human supremacy dilemma" story, which is pretty overdone in the Gundam franchise. With Mari's apparent death though, I'm truly curious as to who or what the girl from the start of the story is.
Also given how far along their relative timeline the story takes place, I wouldn't be surprised if the universe had medical nanomachines a la Gundam 00, and she'll be placed in a restoration chamber for some period of time.

All that said, I don't understand why the governing bodies didn't merely cover up the existence of "Eights" or introduce them as a Space-Exploration spec model of the existing 7th gen, so as to ease potential tensions. Did they not have a protocol established through the introduction of previous generations of humanity? Was there never dissent between previous generations of humanity? What makes this scenario any different aside from the space expidition?

I don't think she dies here. nevertheless the attempt itself is enough the eights need to warrant violent actions

also according to the scanlators twitter post, the series is going on hiatus until the end of April

OK, this is unexpected and now adds a lot of questions.
Also shame we didn't see Naomi going full John Wick...

Hiatus may have been a bit much, but it's just not showing up until next month's issue (the typical break all titles cycle through).

I'm not going lie the story interesting but this plot of 7s hating 8s just because the people wanted stronger soldiers is dumb cause that argument can be same from the 6s so looking at the argument as a whole it kind of fall short and should be instead putting their anger towards the one's who did this and not a generation (am I understanding this correctly or am I wrong cause idk)

Man, I wonder how that hyper-focused scientist is feeling now. His abrupt and very public revelation has proven to be the spark that has lit this fire, even if one could say that it was clearly inevitable.

7 sentiment grows deeper than '8s can't reproduce'. It's the loss of jobs and destruction of the general 7 lifestyle that grew heavy resentment. This point was simply mentioned in passing and the author did a horrible job of showing the full reason why 7s loathe 8s.

It's somewhat understandable in the shoes of a 7 if you've just been told that 8s are the future and have experienced your friends, family, and you community lose their job to 8s.

Another weak point is the presentation of 8s in general. The only 8s we know of is our main cast, but "3%" of the population are 8s. Pretty small overall, but substantial if all of them are generally congregated to the Atlantis - no wonder the 7s at the Atlantis are riled up. It really gives us a one-sided view of the 8s - that they're all the good guys and not a single 8 has growing resentment towards 7s.
