I'm already a fan of TS reincarnation stories, but the detective angle makes this pretty unique as far as stories like this go, and there also seems to be an intentionally-added tension about the MC not knowing if this is really a full reincarnation (meaning Nogami and Julia are the same person who just awoke to their past memories) or if Julia somehow disappeared and Nogami became her.
Is retrocognition another name for psychometry? I wonder if there's any difference between them.
I just looked up some basic definitions for both.
Retrocognition: the alleged psychic ability to perceive past events, objects, or information that could not be known by normal means.
Psychometry: a parapsychological practice where individuals claim to read an object's history, or its owner's, by touching it to receive mental impressions.
It looks like psychometry is a subset of retrocognition, so technically both would be correct, but maybe psychometry is more so since the power shown here is specifically triggered by touching objects.
