Well that's how some stories go but I wonder if they do pick out some vulnerable ppl and "promote" them quickly to instill confidence and brainwash their loyalty faster if they're someone that's not usually capable/mediocre and wouldn't have gotten far in their other ambitions versus someone too cunning

Coincidence? It's literally being the plot from the beginning lol. One looking for his wife, the other for his mother. Both were extremely hard to find because of their high position in the cult.
