big W for Saki in this chapter. she fully supporting Ayaka, even going as far as giving her movie tickets for a one-on-one date. feels bad for Shizuku though, she becoming losing heroine in this manga :meguuusad: even though Ayaka was super shy about asking MC going out (ofkors date), Haruto accepted her invitation without any hesitation and even looked really happy about it. maybe in the next chapter the MC will finally realize Ayaka feelings :meguu:

Unfortunately that often not how love works in the real world.
It's way more common that you like someone because you don't know much about them, then start to like them less as you get to know them better.

No, she doesn't like romance. That's a horror movie where gravity is reversed and giant flying carp start rising up (falling down?) from the depths of the sea.

don't put a childhood friend just for her to lose.... not even a contest here, Shizuku

Of all acg media I've consumed all these years, only Tales of Graces does childhood friend right. Only one

Her friend really nailed it, Love is a race so start running to the finish line. Shizuku seems to be stuck as a silly teasing friend and isnt making progress on her race

Can we get some short hair Ws going to combat that?

I'll start with I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class. In this one there's a long-haired "rival" for "best girl", but the short-haired one "wins".

Kinda looking for stories where both are present, but the short-haired girl is chosen, and not just stories where the FMC is shorthaired.

(Edit: I get that the one I recommended doesn't quite fit (unless you're aware of future events), but I'm looking through my completed entries and only finding ones where the short-haired girl loses :fml:.)

I personally really love girls like Shizuku, but they practically always lose. Frustrating, really. Especially when they lose to such generic and boring "pretty girls" like Ayaka.

At this point I'm ready to take visual novel recommendations, too, since those tend to have multiple routes where you can actually choose the best girl.

I remember really liking Aoi Isuzu from Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star-, though I almost forgot everything and it, so it might be time to replay it.

The trick is to not fall for the people you create in your head and get disappointed by the reality.
