I wasn't really sure what to do with this, so I just put it in volume 1... Maybe I'll stick a page at the front of the old chapter 1 telling new readers to just skip the volume 0 chapters and read the expanded versions from volume 1 instead? I don't want to get rid of the Mitaina! versions really, especially whilst we don't have the new versions and don't know if they're all going to get new pages and changed scripts. Hm... I think I'll just wait and see what happens.

Also, it's kinda fun to look at them side by side and spot the art alterations.

That was a lot of new pages!

Japanese cops are such busybodies. But I guess that goes along with that whole police box/neighbourhood police thing they have going on.

The tankoubon came out today, so hopefully if the other chapters have extra pages, we'll know soon.

Very cool. Personally I'm not particularly invested in DPI, but it's your call as the person scanning and translating. Interesting to compare your old version and this new version.

Sidenote: I'm not super confident in my Japanese, but a part of me suspects that the 「カラーン コローン / カラ~ン カラ~ン」 sound effects in this chapter are a representation of a school bell. In manga, I'm more familiar with a more common 「キンコーン カンコーン」 (which Wakaki has used before) as representation of the sound, but the way it's framed as an exterior shot at the end of the school day and phonetic resemblance to the standard sound makes me think it could be a variant spelling.

I tried looking up youtube videos of Japanese school chimes to see if there's anything that sounds deeper, but I can't really tell myself. This Japanese youtube video actually mentions a "karan karan karan" sound use back when they had physical school bells that had to be rung, so I'm genuinely unsure.

Quite possible. I may change it to a bell since that does make sense. I've always struggled with sound effects, since unlike actual words, they vary from mangaka to mangaka. Most the time I just guess them based off context.

I went back whilst I was doing this to the original translation like, 'what did I use before? Oh, nothing. I guess I couldn't decide then either, skipped over it for now and didn't remember to come back.'
